My 88 year old Mother was being hospitalized due to chronic UTIs. She would got to the hospital, get treatment, be released to rehab facility and get another UTI, go back to hospital. You get the picture; revolving door of pain, confusion and feeling horrible. A co-worker told me that her family had long used corn silk tea for all sorts of illnesses especially UTI's. I've been fighting a really bad UTI & Kidney infection...I've been on multiple antibiotics & have not cured my symptoms...while I wait to see what my other culture says & what other meds my doctors decide to give me...I've decided to try the holistic approach...I was told by my mom to boil corn silk and drink it as you would with any tea. I put some honey in it and didn't taste that bad. Right now...

I have a history of kidney stones. I started drinking corn silk 2 days ago and now my stomach has been cramping. Not the same pain I had when passing stones. Could this be related?

My grandmother and mother have been using corn silk for many years whenever they've felt kidney or urinary pain. I've tried it multiple times and it has always relieved my symptoms. You can drink it warm or even cold. Normally try to drink about 1-2 liters through the day. Then next day do 100% cranberry juice. No problem within a day of starting.

You get the picture; revolving door of pain, confusion and feeling horrible. A co-worker told me that her family had long used corn silk tea for all sorts of illnesses especially UTI's. We started giving Mom about 16 oz. of the tea both hot and cold every day. It has been over a year since she has had another UTI! There is no significant taste and she has no objection to drinking it. I am a believer in this remedy. Read More Read Less

I am pre diabetic, and I had a cup of this tea with dinner which was baked salmon, being just after Christmas I also had some of the pineapple upside cake, my blood sugar tested 110 earlier before dinner, it is about 5 hrs later and my blood sugar is 79, lowest it's been for some time. It peaked to 175 Christmas when I ate an Arby's sandwhich, and Christmas day when I had dinner, should have brought a tea bag with me, but didn't think about it. Even last night ate a bag of sun chips, and was horribly disappointed when sugar peaked again to 171, from now on, will be drinking this tea if I eat anything like this again. Been watching everything I eat, take cinn tabs, cranberry, and garlic everyday, incorporate grapefruit, but am happy to have found something that really works. Read More Read Less

Right now I'm at a little more than half a cup & I've noticed that I've become increasingly dizzy/sleepy....For now I will stop drinking the tea, and try again tomorrow, to see if it was in fact the tea...Or the fact that I'm drinking it at 11:47pm...I boiled the silk on one corn in 7 cups of water.Read More Read Less

I have been suffering on and off with urinary tract/kidney infections, and although at first the antibiotics I took were effective, they did not work the last time I took them. In fact, my infection worsened. My mother suggested I try making tea from actual corn silk and parsley, a remedy she had found in a Greek book on herbal remedies (we are of Greek descent). Lo and behold, within hours of drinking the tea, I felt much better. I'm not sure if the pills would have the same effect, but I would definitely try them, as real corn silk is not easy to find.Read More Read Less

Just turned 44, I am a woman with past urinary issues that started up big time last fall and I couldn't find relief from the burning and difficulty urinating. Urologist not much help, no infection but burning like crazy?? Sounded not right, and he gave me samples of a drug used for prostate isuues (?!) that would have definitely had side affects. My mom suggested to change urologists and in the meantime try cornsilk for the burning and difficulty going. Guess what?? Eureka!! What is my just about to be former urologist going to say to that??? Can't wait to tell him. Order Nature's Sunshine brand online. Premium quality. Fast results. Combined with the cranberry tablets I was already taking, I can count on no issues. Read More Read Less
