Guava leaves are very good. It have helped my daddy's blood sugar reduce and have brought him back to his strength.

Baby leaf tips of the guava tree stops nausea in minutes. Mature leaves do not have the effect. I had a serious flu and could not even drink water without vomiting, I chewed two baby guava leaves (extremely sour) and 20 minutes later I was able to eat and hold down soup. Saved me from going to the hospital. (Tiny fuzzy new growth leaf under a centimeter in length)

I used Drinkin' Mate when I consumed alcohol and it allowed me to have small amounts of wine without a headache. I am sensitive to alcohol and generally don't tolerate it at all. Drinkin' Mate is made of guava and unfortunately has been permanently discontinued. I do not know why. :(

Years back, I had an operation for small glass shards in different parts of my body when a small bottle containing explosive powder extracted from rolls of percussion paper cap use for toy guns exploded when it rolled on a garage driveway. We use the explosive powder for our improvised toy pistols. I was operated for this after 2 years, since not all glass splinters were taken out in the emergency room. Two of my surgical wounds got infected and my mom was treating them with “sulfanilamide”, but the wound have not healed after 2 weeks and were becoming bigger. Alarmed, my cousin boiled guava leaves and used the solution to wash and clean my infection. It healed in less than 3 days. Boiled guava leaves solution is a traditional wound treatment of old folks in Philippine provinces. I now take guava leaves tea ever since I read all the positive reviews for its efficacy in treating different kinds of illness. I also told my son to take a glass everyday which somehow relieved his recurring gastritis. I also asked my wife to do so, since she came from a family with high tendency to diabetes; but there was a side effect: She feels dizzy and has had nape pain even after taking only half glass of guava leaves tea. I told her to totally stop taking it. By the way, I have a not so serious facial dystonia which is now only discernable when I talk. Previously I can’t even have a good ID picture.
