I am a 58 year old Licensed Nurse. I have degenerative disc and joint issues & post piriformis muscle release sciatic nerve pressure consistently. I was told five years ago I could never work in my profession again. I can honestly state without my 600mg of Gabapentin in the morning and 1200mg at night I would never get any sleep and would be suicidal over the pain levels. This drug is a Godse...

This medication made it nearly impossible to live any kind of life, makes me dizzy, lightheaded, and my face numb.....This medication never did anything for pain, (Neuropathy), or anything else for that matter. Crap Drug, should be flushed down the toilet, along with the Dr. that prescribed it!!!

Soon after starting this drug for pain from a pinched nerve in my neck, I had extreme side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, and fatigue. I was advised to "hang in there",that the side effects would gradually decrease. They have not and I am currently weaning myself off this medication, down to 100mg per day from 300 and feel like I'm coming out of a fog. As far as my pain, when I have a flare up I find that ibuprophen knocks out the pain more effectively than the Neurontin.

Could of been a sugar pill, really had no change in my pain levels. I was taking 900 mg daily (3 times a day) and still hurt terribly, still had all the signs of neuropathy in all parts of my body. It may work for some, but it did not work for me. I do wish you the best in dealing with your continued pain. You are in my prayers, as I would not wish this on anyone.

This didn't help my pain plus I started having allergic reaction to it after 2 weeks, severe swelling in face, hands, arms and legs, feet.

I have been taking this drug for perpherial neuropathy, without it, I am in constant pain and have "pins and needles". It was difficult at first with three times a day dosing and the doctor did have to adjust the dose because the orginal dose I would sleep for hours and was not able to work or drive. Now I'm back at work, aside from feeling slightly tired all day, I am not in the pain that I had been before.

Huge weight gain, still had to have injections in my back and taike pain pills, found no relief from this drug alone. Felt better when I stopped taking it than when I took it for almost 1 year!

I take neurontin for severe foot pain from Lupus. The pain is so overwhelming that I am unable to stand or do anything when I have an attack. Neurontin has decreased these attacks to about 1 a week instead of every morning.

i have a rare form of neurofibromitosis 2. i have had 2 brain tumors removed and also a spinal tumor removed. however, i still have a tumor in my spinal cord and various "nodules" growing on nerve roots in my spine. i have horrible nerve pain in my left calf and left foot because of one of these "nodules". neurontin (i take the brand) helps me with this pain more than any narcotic. i would not be able to function without neurontin. as far as side effects go, i really can't say that i'm bothered by any. this is an excellent drug!Read More Read Less

I have been taking this medicine for about 3 years now. I take it for a premenstrual disorder(PMDD). I am very happy with the results and they are very noticeable to myself and others.

Neurontin has helped a great deal with the pain. I do feel however that it has made me scatter brained... and I no longer feel that it is safe for me to drive a vehicle.
