I take Xanax only as needed for Panic Attacks. It helps to know that I only have to "hang on" for 15 minutes or so and then it will kick in and work well. I am thrilled with it and don't know what I would do if it wasn't available.

Like most things in life, the issue is how and why one takes Xanax. If you are taking it to treat a condition, be healthier, and be more alive and able to participate in life, you and your doctor can make good choices about whether xanax is helping or not. If xanax helps you run away from physical or emotional pain, and you live less, withdrawl more, etc. it is a big mistake and the longer you l...

I LOVE XANAX. now that I’ve got your attention, I cannot express to you how important what you eat and moving your body is to your brain health. I have suffered from anxiety and depression my whole like just like all the others on this review page. However, use of this type of medication for the most delicate organ is outlandish to me. Especially when it comes down to the chemically processed oils (canola, vegetable, soybean oil, etc) that are in just about all packaged foods (look at the back of your package. There in plain sight but few educated and thatâ??s what those who make a profit of it like) Do you not make the connection of how many sick mentally and physically to the foods we put in our mouths? I realize most of this will fall onto deaf ears, that is because those are not ready to make a change yet. This is rooted from natural human fear. (I say naturalâ?? we all have fear of change. I once did, too!) since Iâ??ve began to eat with intention and Whole Foods that include Olive Oil, avocados, grass fed beef, pasture eggs â??contains omega 3â??s that feed my brain and combat against diseases like Alzheimerâ??s, type 2 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION. Do research. Move your body once daily. Go outside. Hug someone. Travel. These are important tools I use to help me keep my sanity. Paired with Whole Foods and exercise you can be on the path to healing yourself sans man made pills. LOVE is utmostly the answer. Youâ??re enough. Iâ??m enough. Believe that. Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for about 23 years on and off. I only take when absolutely required. Unfortunately now it is extremely difficult to obtain. I used to get the prescription from my GP but now I have to see a pyschiatrist who when called for an authorisation on the script was only allowed to prescribe 30 tablets without any repeats. She also prescribed another med that works similar to Xanax but so far l don't agree. Unfortunatley it was been put on the schedule 8 drugs which is considered a poison. People like myself who only take when l have a panic attack have been categorised as dependent and almost ignored. I wouldn't be alive today if l didn't have access to this drug and l have never been addicted to it as I have a measured dose which I take. It goes to show that the ICE addicts have not only ruined the reputation of this drug but have also removed its accessibility for all of us.Read More Read Less

It helps but please BEWARE. It will not solve your problem, only (maybe) the symptoms. There's much more to do than just to take a bloody pill to combat problems you're having. It can be the first step, just to get you back on your feet but you absolutely have to change something in your life to combat anxiety. Don't make it your first and the last step just to take the pill!

The only medication that works for me.A true miricale drug that saved my life.Sadly I now live in a small town and can not find a Doctor to prescribe it.I took it for over 5 years and stopped cold turkey.I had no withdraws only negative effects were constant panic attacks which is the reason I took it.I was on 6 mgs a day.Now they refuse to prescribe it and continue to make me try ssri drugs which I've tried literally everyone some 3 times and I might as well be taking sugar pills.Big shout out to the criminal junkies out there making it impossible for people who legitimately need this drug to receive it.Read More Read Less

Had to go for a MRI, could not do it, never had been claustrophobic before... been in tanning beds, airplane bathrooms, crowded elevators- no problem! Putting me into that small tunnel?? Hells no. MRI tech suggested asking for some ativan, xanax or valium. I called my PCP and xanax was prescribed. I asked for 2 doses worth so I could try it at home first as I had never taken it. got .05 mg. Said to take 1 30 min before and take another in 30 min if needed. So, I did my trial run, ended up taking 2 and felt NOTHING!! About an hour later I started feeling irritable and very impatient!! NOT results conducive of being in a MRI for almost an hour. Called my ortho who prescribed valium. WOW, what a difference! He gave me 2 5mg tabs with almost the same directions. Take half a tab then take another half 30 min later if needed. 3 half tabs was the bomb!! I was like - whatever, as I do not give a shit right about now... MRI success!! And I had no problem driving myself home either. Actually stopped to get groceries on the way. Read More Read Less

For the first time since the panic attacks and ptsd started I was able to relax. I took Xanax as prescribed every four hours and It worked in calming me down but also made me severely tired. And if you do not take it on time you may start to feel symptoms of withdrawal similar to panic attacks. Itâ??s also highly addictive so you need to way the pros and cons. For someone who is truly suffering it will help.

I'm on the lowest dose possible for Xanax and only take it 1/2 of a pill as needed. Which is usually about once a month. On months where my PMS symptoms are severe I may have to take a whole one at least twice that month but as long as I'm taking my regular antidepressants/anxiety meds then I'm usually ok with just half when needed. I was worried that I would become addicted Because of all the stories I've heard surrounding this drug but honestly it just makes me sleepy when I take a whole one and a half dose is perfect so my worry was for nothing. I love this medication and definitely recommend it as it has helped me tremendously with my anxiety and panic attacks. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Xanax for 6 yrs. for sleep problems. I take .25 or less at night and sleep 4 hrs, then wake up and take .125 and get another few hrs. sleep if lucky. Some nights I sleep 5 or 6 hrs. I'm groggy in the morning but wake up after breakfast and feel better. I am on Cardiazem now and this holds the Xanax in my system longer, so I am trying to hold the dose at the bare minimum. I can't get any sleep without Xanax, so I think it is addictive but the small amounts I take should not hurt me. I have anxiety at the dentist's office and this med is great to relax me.Read More Read Less

I've been taking the lowest dose of Xanax since 1997. It has helped me survive many days and years of life with horrible anxiety. I still have my issues, but everything is worse without this med. I try to work with myself as well. I have limits.
