I take Xanax only as needed for Panic Attacks. It helps to know that I only have to "hang on" for 15 minutes or so and then it will kick in and work well. I am thrilled with it and don't know what I would do if it wasn't available.

Like most things in life, the issue is how and why one takes Xanax. If you are taking it to treat a condition, be healthier, and be more alive and able to participate in life, you and your doctor can make good choices about whether xanax is helping or not. If xanax helps you run away from physical or emotional pain, and you live less, withdrawl more, etc. it is a big mistake and the longer you l...

Xanax gave me my life back. I function very well on it with no side effects. I've taken it off and on for many years now, and have been able to overcome severe agorophobia. I take a low maintenance dose (.25 mg per day, split into two doses) that enables me to adjust it according to my stressors of the day. Due to the low dose, I do experience a few break-thru panic attacks, but they aren't as severe and respond quickly to another half pill (.125 mgs). The low dose keeps me functioning normally, while also keeping me from the side effects and withdrawal symptoms that I've heard about, but never personally experienced while taking this drug. It works for me.Read More Read Less

Works very well with one Ambian CR. Take one Xanax and one Ambian with your Doctors consent and you will sleep for at least 8 hours. Soundly.

While this didnt help long term, I used it on an as needed basis and it did wonders. I was only on .25 mg so if my episode was severe sometimes I had to take two pills to make me feel better. I was taking these during a very difficult period in my life.

I have suffered panic attacks on and off for the past 2 years, and at first was given other drugs that made me prctically immobile, like a zombie. I went on no drugs and things settled down, then I was hit by a taxi and now take zannax on a daily basis and it is really helping most of the time.

I was very happy with xanax for my anxiety. I did have some tiredness the following morning, but nothing too severe. Overall, it was a very effective drug.
