I've been on Loestrin 24 for a while and have had no negative side effects at all! I didn't have any breakthrouh bleeding and my period is super light now! My cup sized increased from a 34B to a 34C in the first 2 weeks on the pill (yay!) and I haven't had ANY of the PMS symptoms I used to. I was one of those girls that missed at least one day of school a month because of cramps, but I've never fe...

My doctor switched me to this birth control from Othro Tri Cyclen because he thought it would be better for me. I have high blood pressure following the birth of my daughter and he though a low estrogen pill would be safer. He told me that I would probably not get my period of this pill because a lot of women don't. Unfortunately, this pill failed the very first month I was on it. We are now p...

I have been extremely pleased with this birth control. I have been using it over a year, and I have gone as much as 3 months with no period. I have had no weight gain or mood swings. In fact, I was switched to this one because I became very moody, depressed, and suicidal. This birth control has truly been a life saver.

This was not a very wonderful experience for me at all. I've been on it for about 29 days now and I've had some of the worst side effects from bloating, cramps, nausea, weight gain, headaches, sex drive decrease and the scariest part is that I haven't had my period yet. I had to look online to discover the side effects because my doctor did not inform me of any of these. Reading some of the reviews and finding out that actually makes you stop having a period had eased my mind but I still went and got to pregnancy test just to be safe, one for now and one for a few weeks later. It might actually work for some, but not me. I threw them in the trash today. Read More Read Less

No weight gain. Periods only 2-3 days! No cramping or PMSing. I forget I'm even on my period!

Loestrin Fe 24 has worked wondefully for me. I am 23 and 127 lbs and have had no side effects. No weight gain, lighter period, no mood swings/depression and no pregnancies. I have been on birth control for 3 years now. I started with Yaz which my doctor took me off after publicized health concerns surfaced. She switched me to the generic version of Yaz which I had a horrible time with so I switched to Loestrin Fe 24 about a year ago.

I only took this for 14 days. I started bleeding on the 12th day and had terrible cramps. I read a lot of negative comments online about women experiencing heavy bleeding. I took a birthday control pill for 10 years with no problems. This one is just plain horrible.

I was prescribed Loestrin 24 Fe Oral for long / heavy periods and have been on it for 3 months. Since starting this pill, I have spotted everyday, experienced episodes of being moody, emotional and crying for no reason. No weight gain, no breast changes, a little bit of acne and some dizziness. I felt that after 3 months, my cycles were not any better and the side effects were not worth continuing the pill. My doctor switched me to Generess FE. Although this pill may work for many others, the hormones did not work for me.Read More Read Less

Once I got on LoEstrin 24 the cysts went away and its been a year and I still am doing well. The only thing that jumps out at me is I got some unusual leg cramps the first couple of weeks. Thats it! Sometiems very vivid nightmares. Also increased sex drive about the second week in. I will stay on them as long I as I can afford it..Read More Read Less

Loestrin worked great birth control wise, but it gave me a yeast infection every time I started a new pack. I had to switch to a different brand, it wasn't worth the awful infections!

I used to have heavy periods that lasted a whole week with cramping and they were ALWAYS irregular. They would come from every 2 weeks to every 1 1/2 months and I'd never know. Made it hard to plan vacations. When I went on this pill at first I bled and cramped for about 3 weeks straight until my next period and then after my "pill period" it was always on time, light with little no no cramping ever since! It comes to days after the brown pills start but that's okay because I know. My sex drive/emotionalness has decreased a bit which kinda sucks but it's not the end of the world. Weight and skin have been the same and haven't had as much PMS. Life just goes on and I would recommend this pill, just take it at the same time every day or within a half hour and you will be fine.Read More Read Less

I had the normal side effects of nausea, bloating, irritability and tiredness for pretty much the whole time I took this pill. I put up with it for over a year because it is medication and there is always side effects that come with it. It really helped my periods become much more regular because they were all over the place before being put on the pill. Unfortunately, the side effects have gotten worse over the past 6 months and I've had horrible nausea, crazy mood swings and extreme bloating. I've been put on a different type of pill so hopefully the side effects will improve.Read More Read Less

I took Loestrin 24 for a little over two years. This was my first birth control and I didn't quite realize the symptoms until I recently stopped taking it. It was a great birth control in making my periods shorter(if that non-existent) and completely got rid of my debilitating cramps. But other than that this birth control made me crazy: mood swings, depression, and constant fatigue. It also made my acne even worse.

Been on and off loestrin since I was 18 or 19. Years later I still take it with ease. When starting I have always experienced spotting and a little bit on tenderness but it subsides by week 2-4. It is very effective. No skin problems, etc. Maybe a little more emotional that when not on the pill. Increase in breast size but thats fine. No food cravings or increased hunger. It will continue to be my bc of choice. I get no period at all while taking it !

I experienced multiple adverse symptoms while taking this pill including yeast infections and vaginal irritation, severe depression and symptoms associated such as difficultly sleeping and lowered sex drive. My periods were not lighter and still lasted a full week. I stopped at the end of the fourth pack of pills because the side effects were too bad to continue. Side note (this may not be a result of Loestrin 24 Fe but I'm including it in case it's helpful): I weigh less than 100 lbs but before taking Loestrin I had a very regular period. For a year and a half after quitting the pill my periods were HIGHLY irregular, sometimes with two in one month followed by nothing for two months. I've had regular periods for six months straight now, so I think that ordeal is over. Read More Read Less

I have been taking Loestrin for about 2 years. Works great and I have been overall very satisfied. I have not had a cycle in over a year. I have had no mood swings, headaches or itchiness as mentioned in other posts however recently I have noticed a little weight gain. If you are looking for an effective pill - this might be the one for you.

I was on Loestrin 24 Fe for 3 years and had no problems. Short, light periods! Once I returned to the pill after a (planned) pregnancy, however, I started having horrible nightmares during the placebo pills. I was usually a few days into the placebo pills before my period would start, and the nightmares were terrifying every night until my period started. I switched to a different birth control pill and the nightmares stopped. It's crazy how hormones affect EVERYthing!

I switched from yaz to Loestrin 24fe two years ago because the yaz was giving me horrible cystic acne, pms and mood swings out of the blue. The loestrin helped clear up those problems but also made it more difficult for me to lose weight. The horror began when I tried to get off birth control 8 months ago. Everything was fine for the first 4 months with a strange spike in libido for the first 2 months. Then a horrible and new to me type of ance began to appear and has been growing steadily worse for the last 4 months. I have never had acne this bad in my life! Not even when I was a teenager. Also I have new and horrible facial hair growing on my jawline and neck and fine hairs on my cheeks. Also the hair on my head is growing thicker which is the only non-affrontery thing my body has been doing while it tries to re-adjust. Beware before you go on any type of birth control! I am not the only one this has happened to. The online forums are full of these horror stories of women attempting to get off birth control. Read More Read Less

I am a 20 year old girl who got on this pill because I would have my period more than once a month. This pill is awesome in terms of shortening and keeping my cycle very light. However, it did cause me to have some cramping. The one thing it took me too long to realize though is that if you suffer from acne, don't get on this pill. At first it helped and cleared up my face but after 3 months I've been having the worst acne of my life and didn't figure it out until recently. Its been 2 years since I started taking it, and its just cause me so much discomfort with my acne. As far as emotions goes, it really only affected my moods particularly at the beginning. I dealt with a breakup while on the pill and couldn't tell if the pill was making matters worse in terms of being depressed because I decided to get on zoloft to relieve some depression. While taking both at the same time things have been just dandy except for the acne part. Also, I think its made my hair fall out. Before I started taking it, I had long thick hair and now my hair is so frail and scraggly looking. Overall, this pill is awesome for lightening and controlling my cycle but I'm switching next month to a new pill because I can't handle the acne and hair loss its caused. These effects may not happen to you, however if you have problems with acne or hair loss already I wouldn't suggest this pill for you. Read More Read Less
