I have been on this medication for 3 weeks and I am very please so far. Only side affect is the swelling of my left wrist, which is tolerable. My readings have improved immensely. I feared taking any kind of insulin and did not want to do it, also was my fear that I would gain weight, but actually I have lost 5 pounds in the three weeks that I have been on it. I also exercise regularly. The nee...

The flex pen was much easier to use. I tend to bend the needle trying to inject the insulin. It now takes 2 hands and much more pressure to inject,

The medication has worked fairly well for me but does not last the day. The new pen is HORRIBLE. We're changing to a better med and pen.

The new flex pens are terrible. They are hard to use and cause bruising. PLEASE change back to the previous pens!

This new flex pen is horrible and harder to use than the prior device. It’s like a cheap toy.

My dad, who has been living with me since 2020, has been using the Levemir FlexTouch for a number of years. With Levemir’s move to discontinue it and replace it with the FlexPen, we have requested his doctor to switch him to a different insulin brand (doctor just moved him to Lantus) because it has become EXTREMELY difficult for both he and I to inject it into his body without resulting in spillage and/or pain and/or bleeding and/or bruising. Because of spills, his blood sugar readings have steadily increased and we don’t know how much is actually being delivered. Unfortunately he has to wait until the supply of Levemir is used up before insurance will pay for the replacement.Read More Read Less

Terrible “upgrade”flex touch worked…the flex pen is a piece of garbage. Is there another insulin delivery unit as easy to use as the flex touch was?

Glad to read these reviews. I thought I was the only one who hated the new Levemir pen. What a piece of junk! Cheaply made, hard to control, hard to use. The payoff for the company must have been huge for them to settle for this crap. Shame on you!

The new flex pen is absolutely horrible. Bent needles, having to stick myself more than once has turned this into a terrible experience. Need to bring back the flex touch.

The new flexpen is a terrible replacement for the flextouch pen. The new design is a disaster. It's much harder to use and I don't know if the insulin is actually injecting into my body. Please go back to the previous flextouch pen design.

Worse change in delivery system ever. I'm 75 and have arthritis in my hands. Have to use both hands to use. Needle has bent every time. Will change medications. Shame on you for changing what was ok before.

The new pen delivery system (Spring 2023) is a disaster. Very difficult to use. The old spring-loaded system was fantastic. I call Novo Norodisk and asked for the Levemir brand manager to be fired. Will also begin looking for a competitor's product to use instead of this junk.

The new flexpen is absolutely awful. My hands are small and I'm having extreme trouble injecting myself with this new pen. I have to use two hands and still that is difficult. Excessive bruising and many bent needles not to mention the fact that this new pen only delivers 60 units when my prescribed dosage is 70 units. So now I have to go through this painful experience twice each day instead of once. I guess I will ask the Dr. for a different type of insulin. So ridiculous. Is there anyone higher that we can report this absurd change to? Read More Read Less

This new pen is a complete misfire. I never struggled with the spring loaded pen. But this new pen is simply hard to use. Having to hold the pen, push in the now manually propelled button while holding the skin is a horrible user experience. This is the perfect example of a downgrade.

BIG BOX PHARMACY HAS CHANGEC THE LEVEMIR PEN. I'm currently using the Levemir product for type 11 control. NOVO NORDISK is putting out a "flexPen" product now. It requires two hands to administer. The previous pen was easy to use, awesome! I'm 71 years old and struggle to use the pen. How are elderly and handicap people suppose to self administrator without help. Myself I will contact my Doctor immediately to make changes to another product with ease of use TODAY. FlexPen is not the only pen on the market. Take time to smell the roses people! I have been using Levemir insulin for several years now, and had no problems until this past week when I went to inject myself with the new “pen” delivery system. It is absolutely awful ! I can not understand what in the world they were thinking when they “redesigned “ the product! Was the designer drunk or just a sadist? First off, this is very difficult for a person to have the coordination and dexterity needed to self administer. I am only 52, and have difficulty; I can only imagine how difficult it would be for someone in their 70-80’s. Secondly, the fact that the medication isn’t given by a spring-loaded mechanism, means that it takes an extremely long time to administer, and is significantly more painful, as I believe the needle is getting bent before all of the medication has been delivered. It seems as though one needs to change the needle per every 20 units given in order to not have the needle bend. Thirdly, I am on 80 units, and this device now only delivers 60 units, so I have to change my needle mid- administration, assuming that it were possible to do the 60 units without changing needles in the first place. This is ridiculous. It is unnecessarily time consuming and painful to use the new system, and I do worry about scar tissue developing at injection sites from needles being bent mid administration. The claim on Noro Nordisc’s website, that this change was made in order to help consumers and “keep up with demand” is pure malarkey! This company has had the Flextouch” pen around for about 10 years with no issues, and if one reads consumer reviews, most patients using the new pen are not at all happy with this change. Clearly this was a financial move for the company, as there was no issue with the flex touch pen. If I were this company, I would REALLY RECONSIDER this move and return to their old flex touch pens, or they might be sorely disappointed with sales going forward. I, for one, might be taking my prescription business elsewhere and ask to be charged to a different medication soon, if they don’t go back to the old design, and would encourage other users to consider doing the same. There are other brands of insulin out there. This brand is highly expensive and makes the company an enormous amount of profit. Maybe the only way that these drug companies will hear the concerns of their patients/consumers/customers is when their customers/patients say it by bringing their business elsewhere.Read More Read Less

Who ever redesigned this pen should be fired this is poorly designed for older users. It is extremely difficult to hold the pen straight and upright while pushing the plunger. The plunger is very stiff and hard to press down.

it's the new flex pen. this thing sucks. how does the mf'er who designed this even still have a job? hard to hold while dispensing, takes way too long. multiple presses to restart the dispense process. cheap button on top is too close to the spiraling barrel. now takes two hands to hold an steady the pen. needles tend to bend, which never happened with the older flex touch. what is wrong with these people? did you even beta test the design before throwing it on the market?
