Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

First shot caused some soreness. We thought it was due to my knee pain and arthritis. Second shot and my knee swelled up like a balloon. I could barely walk. Third shot, and I had hives...MASSIVE hives all over my body. My Dr called the makers of Eufflexa and was told that I could NOT be allergic as it was human compound made in a sterile setting. A total knee replacement later to try and get the Euflexxa out of my body did not work. By this time the Eulexxa had effected my whole system. Resulting in what my allergist calls, "A blood disorder". 3 years later, I still get massive hives at the least exertion!! Be very leery of using the medication.Read More Read Less

These shots are amazing! I have horrible arthritis in my knees and know I will need a knee replacement eventually but since I am only 24 I tried the shots to buy me some time. And after a cycle of 5 shots I have no pain! I haven't had any side effects either and it has been 7 months since I had the shots. Going in to get them in my other knee.

After years of jogging and wearing down the cartilage in both of my knees, even walking was painful. But this stuff worked like a charm for me. I've actually begun running again. I've found that the effect lasts about 2 years for me. But some of these comments are giving me pause about continuing to recommend it to others.

I would not recommend this for anyone. It is causing pain all over my body. How long does it take to get over it? Others are describing the same painful side effects. Why are they still giving it? It is terrible.l

I got one shot in each knee and was in dire pain for the next week. Dr. said I had a reaction to euflexxa. I went into dr. the 3rd day. He explained that the gel takes awhile to get to the inside of the knee and sometimes it stays in one spot so that the pain I feel. He wants to give me more euflexxa but I refused. So he gave me ultrasound and electrode therapy and next week he'll give me laser therapy. He gave me Voltaren Gel to rub in knees 3Xs a day. But the insert says can cause heart attack or stroke(I already had both) and stomach bleeding, etc. I have stomach problems. I used it once and it caused more pain. So I only use Motrin 800mg twice a day with food, Ice a few times a day, and lidocain patch 5%. I am very upset and unhappy with the doctor and the treatment. Won't use euflexxa again! Too much pain after shot.Read More Read Less

I took this medication for eight years after having an accident and othroscopic surgery on right knee. The last two years, I found it became less and less effective. Finally saw a surgeon and had knee replacement. The euflexxia hots bought me some years before major surgery, I was bone on bone and knew eventually it had go be done.

Received 3 injections 1 week apart & they were mostly just uncomfortable. Knee felt great after 3 injections and then the side effects set in (severe back pain & joint pain). I wasn't sure what was wrong with me so went to several chiropractor appts. and finally read the side effects of these injections and now it makes sense. Knee feels good but side effects are not worth it. PLUS this is an expensive process even with insurance.

Receiving this injection was somewhat painful for the first and second shots, however the third was extremely painful and caused more problems where therapy and movement and never recovered to pre-injection status.

Rachelle, 47 from Philly. I have Osteoarthritis in both knees but the left is bones on bone on the medial side and is extremely painful. The injections helped somewhat on the right, still not pain free but better but the left I swear was made worse. Steps are the worst

So got my first treatment. Left Knee application no pain, Right Knee was a different story, felt pain in my Knee Cap (1-10) about 8. Good new is stiffness when getting up from sitting a while is gone. Stairs are way better. Going to try laps around the Dog Park today and see how that does. Trying to lose weight but if your knee's hurt it almost useless to try. So one down two to go. Treatment in total with Doctor's visit included about $2100.00. My share with 80/20 split about $420.00. Way worth it so far. Were having visitors and I didn't want to be a borderline cripple hobbling around. Read More Read Less

I just got my first injection of Euflexxa. I have no side effects, and no more pain. The doctor told me that both knees were "bone on bone" and I was a perfect candidate for knee replacement bilaterally. I decided to try this first. I amazed. No more pausing when I stand from a sitting position to wait for the pain to pass, no more pain with a pivot turn, and no more holding on to the table when I stand up after eating to steady myself for the first step. Even went to the grocery store and walked on the hard floors without any pain at all. Amazing Read More Read Less

This treatment has been the answer to my prayers, as I have osteomalacia of the knee and had arthroscopy more than 20 years ago. I take care of my husband, who has Parkinson's, so I can't afford the downtime of a new surgery and rehab. The first round of euflexxa was 3 shots, and then another 3 shots 6 months later. I have not needed any more injections, and my knee is better than ever. I follow Dr. Schlifstein's orders, exercising my knee every day, with special attention to the inner thigh, and stretching as well. At first I used an icepack after exercise; now I don't even need that. I just keep the knee stable with exercises and stretches. I keep my weight down so my knee has less pressure on it. Exercise plus once-in-a-great-while euflexxa, and I am good to go. What a fantastic option euflexxa has been. Plus it's easier to DO the exercises now because I don't have pain. And I find my knee to be more flexible while I am actually doing the exercises. The exercises are key -- the euflexxa took away the pain and swelling I used to have. My knee is no longer swollen and my gait is great. It gives you breathing room, and you can certainly stave off surgery either for the moment or forever.Read More Read Less

My doctor is excellent, Dr. Blobeck, Steadman-Hawkins, DTC in Denver, CO. The application is critical to the success with three injections. I have gone over a year between injections. Would like to see mor flexibility, however, with no cartilidge remaining, 1000 times better than a knee replacement. The gnarly verticle scar with lack of flexsion from replacement patients I've encountered will keep me on UFLEXXA as long as possible until cartilidge can be regrown with a medical breakthrough. I am a 64 year old once active male with knee arthritis that has become very painful. In the hopes of relieiving some pain, until I can have knee replacement, I decided to try this procedure. It has now been 4 weeks since I began the treatment and I have experienced no change in my pain or fexibility. The injections were painful. I may even say that the problem has worsened. I now have no other options except enduring the pain for 7 months until I am able to have the surgery.

I have a small tear in the cartilage of my knee which caused pain, popping/clicking, and limited range of motion. I had the series of 3 injections of Euflexxa and started feeling relief 4 hours after the first injection. The treatment is supposed to last 3 to 6 months but I was pain free for 3 years, and that was with daily exercise involving running or cycling. The pain has returned and I have set up another appointment for another round of injections and hoping for the same outcome.
