Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

I had an allergic reaction to this drug which went ignored by the PA injecting it. That severe allergic reaction caused a cascade of problems including swelling in my knee, but also in my other joints, particularly my hands. As an ICU nurse, I have been unable to work for the last 3 months due to pain and swelling. My new doctor says it may have triggered an autoimmune problem like RA or Lupus. Still waiting for the results of tests. I kept telling the PA injecting the stuff that, hot, painful joints are not "normal" like he kept telling me. This drug may have cost me my career.Read More Read Less

Have had these injections every 6 mos for 2 yrs. Left knee is bone on bone and right knee has thin cartilage.osteoarthritis. the injections didn't hurt upon administration of them. Quick. Look for an ortho Dr. Who has you lie down and uses ultrasound to monitor where the fluid is injected. Move knees afterwards & do no strenuous activity for 48 hrs. Ice if necessary if you feel machines or pain.I felt some pain as the gel expanded, lifting knee cap. Only the first set of injections. Dr said expect no more than 40 percent relief. That's what I got after 6 wks. Injections every 6 mos. Third & fourth time I felt immediate relief after week one injection. Some knee pain for 6 mos. But better than without injections!!Read More Read Less

I developed painful knee osteoarthritis after many years of running. In my early 50s I gradually developed a limp from the pain. I tried exercise and pain killers to no avail. After my first set of Euflexxa treatments my pain subsided and eventually stopped, along with the limp. I have annual treatments now and feel much better. I'm sure I'd have knee replacements by now if not for it.

I am 61 and have had five knee surgeries on my left knee. Had a series of three shots of Euflexxa. Shots were very painful. I had my last shot three weeks ago. Pain is worse and my mobility is worse. Big mistake!

After the third injection, my knee felt great and didn't bother me again for well over the six months the Euflexxa was supposed to last. So happy with it I am going back in for injections on my other knee.

After two plus years of off/on pain in my right knee, I had an x-ray, which showed OA and loss of cartilage - bone on bone. Stiffness and pain when sitting and then when standing. The 1st injection has been miraculous - no pain and good mobility - two more to go. Only downside was headache, mild stomach pain and tightness in my throat several hours after the injection. Will mention it to the doctor before the next injection - wonder if taking a Benadryl before the injection would help with the throat tightness. The headache and stomach pain were not sever.Read More Read Less

I blew out my meniscus 6 yrs ago in a cycling accident. I had the knee scoped a year later. 90% of meniscus shredded and removed. Knee never really seemed to be back 100%. I have had the cortizones, steriods, RICE nothing but a roller coaster ride with this. Dr kept talking knee replacement.... just let him know when I was ready. Then he suggested EUFLEXXA due to insurance limitations. First shot no problems, 2nd shot a little pain, but not too bad, the 3rd man my knee was FULL. Couldn't walk on it for the rest of the day. Next morning everything was great. I loved this stuff. Never had pain, the knee felt like nothing had happened. Never gave the knee a second thought. Now six weeks later back to old hat. Need to wear the knee brace again. I want to get the knee shot up quarterly. Dr says "Eggheads in Washington think they are Drs. and wont let him inject the knee for six months." Not really looking forward to 4 more months of this. I have a call into the Dr to discuss replacement options..... Thanks Eggheads in Washington.... You guys really blow!Read More Read Less

I did not see the person filling the needle with the euflexxa. She went in another room and got the needle already filled. I have some question as to if I received the euflexxa I paid for or not. It cost me $377.38 AND I feel as if I did not get it. I have had no relief. Very dissappointed.

Well I am a 50 year old hairstylist. Ive been behind the chair for 30 years. I've been diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my right knee. I walk like I am 90. Doc says Im too young for a knee replacement yet, especially because I am still working. Anyway, I did the cortisone injections but those didn't last for long. So three weeks ago I started Euflexxa. The first two injections, I didn't feel any results, and boy do those shots hurt. I got my third injection today and I feel a little relief. My husband says Im walking much better. I hope this gives me some relief. Read More Read Less

After 1st injection my R knee was extremely painful. 2nd injection wasn't much better and after the 3rd it was worse - popping/clicking, swelling, difficulty standing/walking and laying in bed was nearly impossible. My Dr. was on vacation so saw someone else 10 days after last injection. He didn't seem to feel there was anything wrong...if it isn't better after the weekend "give us a call". I'll wait for my doc to come back and see him. Very dissatisfied with this drug. SynVisc injections (3) 2 years ago worked miracles. Almost 2 years without pain.Read More Read Less

I am a very athletic 50 year old woman and have had 'hyalgan' injections in my other knee last year (that were very effective), however my insurance changed, so I could only get 'Euflexxa' in the this knee and just had the three shots. My knee is not any better, and possibly worse, plus I have back pain that is still lingering (I never have back pain) and I see that it is a possible side effect. These shots were a waste for me.

I am bone on bone in my right knee due to OA. I was made to have these injections before a replacement would be considered. The fluid drawings along with the injections were excruciating. The medication has done nothing for the pain. My knee is extremely swollen and throbs constantly. I would not recommend this for anyone.

This is my second round. Had my first series of shots 4 years ago. It has helped me tremendously. They wanted to do surgery but I opted for this. So glad I did.

Started the first shot of my fourth series over the last several years. They proved to be effective, however each series gave shorter relief. I am experiencing severe pain in my left knee cap after the first shot. I hope it is temporary.
