Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

I had the three consecutive injections, each one week apart. It worked wonderfully. It has been a year, and slight pain is returning. I have bone on bone, so this has been a good year, but I know replacement knee surgery is in my future.

After reading a number of reviews I was hesitant to use this med. I had arthroscopic knee surgery about 3 months ago to repair damage to the meniscus and other things. The procedure went great. My surgeon is a sports medicine/ surgical specialist and has worked on hundreds of professional athletes. I’m 6 feet tall and weight around 265 and am a competitive martial artist. I was also a powerlifter for many many years so my knees have taken a beating. The pain in my knee was still pretty bad and I was having issues just standing up as the knee felt like it would lock in place. I just took the first of my 3 shots and the difference was almost immediate. I wasn’t limping anymore. I could move and climb stairs with no pain. The shot itself didn’t hurt. Seriously. I thought it was going to be very painful but it went real smooth. I feel very confident I’ll be able to get back to training enough so that I can cut my bodyweight down to a level that will impact my joints less. I’ll add more later as I get the next two shots. So far it’s great. Read More Read Less

After losing 30 lbs after Lap band surgery in April, I was diagnosed in June with OA of the right knee. So much pain t hat walking on it was hard to do, that I thought I tore the meniscus disc. Thankfully, no. Cortisone treatments didn't last long. I had my second Euflexxa injection on 9/20/10 and so far, so good. No return of the severe pain. Right now, at night, may feel a twinge of pain, but am sure after the 6 week period after the third shot next week, I will have relief. No bad reactions, though it hurt to get the shots, but I can kick my doctor for that (hee hee). I am down an additional 22 lbs, so I'm sure as I lose weight and go into the 100's range, that will help the medication work. Right now at 307 lbs, any relief it gives is a blessing.Read More Read Less

I will be getting the third injection tomorrow and it has been a gratifying pain relief thus far. I will try to update as I return to work thereafter.

After many years I went on a hike and what a difference in function and post hike pain...of course, I still will limit the number and duration of hiking, hiking stride...but would have to do this with a replacement knee anyways since they don't come with new ACL"s.

I have tried every type of synovial fluid replacement for my knees. For each type, you are required to finish the full series BEFORE evaluating the effectiveness. The fluid needs to build up in your joint. So don't trust the reviews of those who report relief after one or two. Even after the 3rd, most MD's will tell you to wait several weeks before evaluating effectiveness. If you think you feel something before, its somatic.

This stuff is a miracle worker! I liken it to jacking up cement. The very first time I had injections (I'm going to have my next series of 3 very soon)as soon as I got home I could tell a difference. My knee was sore but I could feel a bounce I hadn't felt in a very long time. I iced my knees, and the next morning, I felt like a new woman! The therapy last me about 6-7 months. That I am overweight, shortens the "life span". Have you WELL QUALIFIED PHYSCIAN numb your knee with ethylchloride spray and you shouldn't feel much more than some pressure.Read More Read Less

I have suffered with knee pain for over 3 years. I've tried OTC and prescription meds, Cortisone Injections, PT, knee braces, etc. I had my 1st shot last week. The first day or two I was questioning my decision but, by the third day, I was starting to feel some relief. I hope that after the second & third injections it will be even better. My doctor did explain that about 80% of people see relief so I'm being realistic and know it's not a guarantee.

I have advanced arthritis in both my knees. Basically it is just bone on bone. I have been told I need both knees replaced, but because of my weight it has not been an option. Plus three family members have had knee replacements and they said they would never do it again. This medicine has worked for me. My knees still hurt sometimes but before euflexxa I didn't want to even get up to go to the restroom because of the pain. I will continue to use this medicine. I am currently on my second shot for the left knee and have already had the injections in my right knee. I previously used the medicine over a year ago and am just now needing it again.Read More Read Less

I have had the left knee replaced and was doing real well untill I got the Euflexxa shots in the right knee. The first shot seemed to work for about 4 hours but I had swelling in both legs, when I went back to the Dr. for the second shot I mentioned it to him, he told me to take the next shot and we will watch for problems. Well problems I have had, the tightness and soreness is worse in my good knee than it is in the bad knee, I am not going to continue the shots. I was better off using steroid shots and will gladly go back to them untill I can have the right knee replaced next march. I had headaches, and pain in my back and legs so bad I had trouble sleeping at night and try and lift them off the bed was very painful. I even had trouble in physical therapy and my therapist told me to bring it to the Drs. attention. Will not do this again. My advise is to investigate thoughruly before you take these shots. I have severe osteoarthritis and torn meniscus.I am 58 and buying time for a knee replacement. Doctor tells me Euflexxa is last resort before surgery. It is 3 weeks since my 3rd knee injections of both knees and my pain is the same if not worse than before. Some days I can bearly walk.Doc says sometimes takes 6 weeks for pain releif?????? And pain releif lasts about 6 months. When the injections were administered, it was the worst pain of my life...lots of pressure and fullness in my knees, I thought they were going to explode and could hardly walk out of the doctors office. They had to take me to my car in a wheelchair. Also my knees became very red and inflammed/itchy at the injection sites.Doctor said he only ever had 2 patients with this severe pain during injection. Thus far, in my experience, I would never recommend this treatment. Read More Read Less

Without these Euflexxa treatments I would be so limited to what I would be able to do on a day to day basis - these injections let me ride my bike and excercise at the gym and yard work again.
