Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

This is another update. I received the third shot in my first series of Euflexxa early this week. Again the shot was very painless. Shots never really bothered me but for some reason i will not watch when he does this one. I play racquetball a couple of times a week and Euflexxa has allowed me to play pain free. Everything is grand for now. I will do another review when I start feeling pain in my knee so everyone can see how long the first series lasts me.

I was recently diagnosed w/osteoarthritis following removal of meniscus from right knee and my doctor recommended this injection; I got my first one this week but the next day noticed "major" bruising and tenderness of the knee opposite side of injection?? Immediately went for f/u appt. w/doctor as bruising/tenderness spread to inner side of knee (got pics); Doctor could not explain this reaction?which causes me to question its effectiveness?? Will be seeking 2nd opinion from another doctor. And although pain has decreased somewhat, do not believe there will be anymore injections for me especially if the side effects are this severe!!! This is an update from my first post. I just had my second shot of my first series of shots. Everything is wonderful so far. Two weeks pain free now. I am able to get back to playing racquetball on a regular basis. I have lost 15 pounds already because of my ability to excersise again. This drug has changed my life so far. I am able to do simple things like yard work and house work again with out any pain.

The Cortisone shots no longer worked for me, my doctor suggested Synvisc. I tryed one shot of that, my knee was sceaming with pain almost right away. Doctor suggested MRI, we learned there as no cartilage left on my knee cap. He suggested more Synvisc, I said no way, then he suggested Euflexxa. He explained that some people react differently to differnet drugs. I got my 1st shot of Euflexxa on Tue. by Fri. I was already walking much better, a lot less pain. I hope it keeps getting better, I slept through the night last night, 1st. time in a long time.Read More Read Less

Injected for loss of cartilage. Might as well have injected water for all the good it did.

I am 35 and have terrible knee pains from a few injuries including a ACL reconstruction and arthritis in my left knee. I had my first Euflexxa shot yesterday and I instantly felt relief. It has only been one day but i am so happy so far. I will be going for my second round next Thursday. The shot was not painful at all. I will post up the follow up shots.

Diagnosed with Osteoarthritis two months ago. Knee didn't respond to exercise or otc meds. Got my first injection today without any anesthetic and was totally unprepared for no pain from the injection! My knee felt better the minute I hopped off the table. I can't wait to see what the second and third injections bring. Thank you soo much!! You have totally changed my life.

I had surgery for my right knee 5 months ago. I had two tears in the meniscus, stage 4 arthritis, and inflamation of the synovial membrane. My recovery was slow so my Doctor recommended the euflexxia. I wanted into the office for my first injection. The shot was extremely painful. When I went for my second injection, I walked in on one crutch. Two days later, I was on both crutches and unable to do any weight bearing on my knee. I opted not to carry through with the third injection. Today 3 1/2 weeks later I am still on two crutches. The nauseating bone ache is finally gone, and I can put weight on my knee, but I am back to where I started after surgery and will have to start at square one with therapy. I would give anything to go back where I was before the injections.Read More Read Less

I can't ride a bicycle. This drug euflexxa added inflammation-like effects in the knee joint. I have ridden 1800 miles in training in the winter months, prior to the injection. Now I also have an inordinate amount of pressure type pain along with bone on bone pain. Euflexxa didn`t stop the popping in the joint. This is the first full week from the injection and still can`t sleep a full 7 to 8 hours because of pain.

I was hit by a log 30 yrs ago. And it took total knee surgery to my left and partial to the right. I rehabed and continued working in the woods in WA and AK for the last 30yrs. 2 more injuries caused total removal of the meniscus in both knees. And the wear and tear caught up in the form of osteoarthritis. So I am on my 2nd injection and am hoping to find relief for a few more yrs till I need total knee replacment on both knees.

This has been great for me. It allows me a great deal of physical activity. I think it will put off (maybe delay permanently) knee replacement.

I was given this medication due to a knee injury jogging that caused a cartilage issue. After the second of the three shots; I started to develop muscle cramps which the doctor told me that I was just over compensating for my knee but after the 3rd shot I was in the ER. My liver could not filter the chemicals and my ankles swelled up like balloons on both legs. I had a temp of 104 degrees for three days. The blood work showed my liver numbers were out of control and the only thing that they could do was keep my on IV fluids and monitor me. I was in the hospital for five days. After 15 days my body returned to normal and I was fine and my primary care doctor said it was not related to the shot. Of course he was covering his behind on this. The only medication I was on was vitamins and baby aspirin before the shots. I would stay away from this drug Read More Read Less

Diagnosed with both cartilage and arthritis in both knees. Could not stand for more than 2 minutes w/o pain and walk only very short distances. Had pain when resting. Shots totally removed pain in knees when resting (except for twisting) and I can stand for 5 minutes and walk a bit know before the pain stops me. Administration was interesting: pain during and immediate after the 1st 2 shots in the right knee, none in left. Then no pain in the right knee but serious discomfort in left when the 3rd was given. Definitely worth it. Now all I need to do is loose 100 lbs. and get two replacement knees. This treatment was a definite plus for me.Read More Read Less

I reviewed this product on 12/03/2010 and gave it a poor report. My Doc referred me to a rheumotologist who explained that what I was experiencing was probably "pseudosepsis", which is basically an imitation of sepsis, a bacterial infection that is very dangerous and can cause much pain. Psuedosepsis of course isn't the bacterial danger that sepsis is and the Doc gave me a cortizone shot only in my affected left knee that completely eliminated the pseudosepsis. Right after my last Euflexxa shot my left knee went ballistic with pain so bad I couldn't tell if my right knee was better. Now I can see and feel that both knees feel much better. I'm playing racquetball, walking and cycling now. If you have severe pain, worse than it was before the shots, tell your doctor to look at this diagnosis. The Euflexxa site does not address this condition and I had to find it on the Sinvisc site. Shame on Euflexxa. Read More Read Less

It's sad to see I'm one of the few who have had negative results. I guess my knees were too far gone for the injections to work. My pain is worse now than before. I finished my injections mid November and within 4 days my left knee was just screaming pain to me. I'll be going back in to see my Dr and most likely get a total knee replacement. It's certainly worth trying as I see most patients have some improvement.

3rd injection was 11-22-10. What with the Holiday , and Black Friday, probably did more walking than I should have. BUT, it has worked well, very little pain, more of an ache, no side effects, and I hope to postpone total knee repalcement for quite some time. As a 69yr old female who has been active her whole life this was not in the cards.
