Just let me start by saying I almost didn't get the treatment becasue of the reviews I read on this site. I am a 50 yr old women that loves to run. I had my knee scoped 2 years ago and am now bone on bone and was looking for some relief. My Dr. suggessted Euflexxa. I was excited for the chance of running without pain. Then I started to do research online and everything written was absolutely terri...

I am preparing for this Euflexxa and quite frankly I am more nervous than before reading the reviews on this procedure. I had surgery on 11/26/10 and I am still inable to function. I can barely walk and the pain is so intense I wake almost nightly to screeming out in pain. I know that I have to try something, I can not continue in this pain and on pain medications. I am a heart patient and diab...

The first 2 injections weren't too bad, I was sore for a couple of days after and I could feel the extra fluid but I had hope as after a few days I felt better. The 3rd injections was HORRIBLE. I was in so much pain that I could barely walk for more than a week. My knees felt unstable and it felt like there was a lot of fluid on my knees, you could see the swelling for 2 weeks. My knees feel the same if not worse than before the injections. Hopefully my dr can figure something out as I would like to be able to walk up and down stairs, get up and down from a sitting position without pain. Read More Read Less

This has not stopped it comes and goes. It is horrible pain

Finally found relief! It has been 4 months and I just finished walking 3 miles this morning. Had severe knee pain for 2 years but was told by dr's that I was too young for arthritis. Finally diagnosed with OA. Lots of breakthrough pain with cortisone, none with Euflexxa. Injections terrifically painful 'but' well worth it. Euflexxa has been a blessing and allows me to be completely 100% mobile again.

i have ostioarthritis in both knees, well in all my joints,i have taken 2 of the 3 required shots.i will not go get the third.was not told of any side effects at my doc.office.i go to a sports medicen doc.he works on our football team here.was told that i needed to not do anything for 24 hrs. after shot.so i took off work the next day.i got my 2nd shot on a thursday, took off thursday, and worked the late shift on friday.was doing ok,but went to work on sunday and my leg was on fire.very sever leg cramps in my calf and behind my knee.went to the target beside us,got some ben gay, didn't work, thank god i had took my cold packs with me to work,so i went to the break room and froze my whole leg.took a vicodin, helped some.i've had a knee replacement on my right knee and am bone on bone in my left, like i was with my right knee.i will not get the third shot, will go back to the cortizone shots that i have been doing for years.that was the worst leg cramps i have ever had,and am still sore this morning.took a flexeril last night before bed,at least that let me sleep.i was not told of any side effects at all,and like others the brochure does not mention any either.i almost went to the emergancy room last night, thats how bad the pain was!scared the heck out of me!think hard about this drug,it might work for you,and then it might not,but if you do take it,ask about side effects,if they tell you there are none, tell them you have read reviews about it and there are side effects.a left knee replacement is in store for me,i know that, but was trying hard to put it off for a little bit,as i just had the right one done in january of 2010..no third shot for me,i'll go back to the cortizone,it work great for years for me.Read More Read Less

THIS DRUG HAS CAUSED ME MORE KNEE PAIN AND SEVERE BACK PAIN ON THE RIGHT SIDE WHERE I RECEIVED THE INJECTION IN THE KNEE. THE DR. SAID THAT WAS IMPOSSIBLE BUT IT IS NO COINCIDENCE AND I CAN HARDLY WALK, SIT DOWN OR SLEEP. I AM NOT VERY HAPPY WITH IT AT ALL. I AM USUALLY A VERY ACTIVE PERSON AND THIS HAS ALL BUT STOPPED MY ACTIVITY.

I developed hip pain after the first injection in both knees. A week after the third injection in both knees I had edema in both feet and ankles. Three weeks since my feet and ankles are still swollen. I have no relief from knee pain either.

It has been one month and I have not slept a whole night due to extreme calf & thigh pain! I can not get up from a sitting position and now use a cane. I am overweight but very active with horses I have not taken either one out cence having the shots not to mention my garden has gone to pot. Now I must tell you that I was able to get my other knee replaced 7yrs ago and am very happy with results now I'm to young to get it done! I would be very careful taking these shots.

First of all, when getting Eufflexa or Synvisc, ask for the Lidocaine injection first, and then the Eufflexa or Synvisc injection...virtually pain free!!! I'll never get one shot...the medication irritates the tissues within your knee! I'm still waiting on results of Eufflexa after my last injection. Can't say I'm pain free yet. Last year, had Synvisc in other knee, and it made it swell and caused so much pain after each of the 3 injections, doc decided to try Eufflexa this time. So far so good, except for the remaining popping and grinding sounds;-/Read More Read Less

Please ignore the stars as they are meaningless, in this case, as they were necessary to put this on the site. I want to thank all of you that were brave enough to try for a cure. With the knowledge gained from your experience I have dedided not to get the procedeure. Mine would have been done by a doctor that told me, "there are no side effects worth mentioning." The only thing that saved me was that he could not do the injection on the day he saw me. Luckily he was too busy.

I am going on 2 1/2 months after my 3 shots of Euflexxa. I did find the procedure painful-definitely need to baby it for about 48 hours. I was in extreme pain and very difficult to walk before the shots, now it it much more comfortable-still have a hard time with stairs. I am hopeful this will last longer than the six months stated.

I received my 3rd and final Euflexxa injection today. Before the 1st one, I could walk normal (what's considered normal for me personally anyway. I've always had a limp with a right knock-knee) and only needed my cane on bad days. The 1st shot didn't hurt at all, but the pain came later that evening. It put me on my cane every day. The 2nd shot was very uncomfortable, not so much painful although I felt the needle that time on the surface. It put me on crutches with toe touching and was soon 'walking' with 1 crutch. This last shot was pure torture!! The numbing spray had the same effect as water would and I felt the entire needle, even when it hit my patella posterior. That alone hurt like hell, but that pain was immediately surpassed by the medicine itself when it was injected. It felt like there was just no room for it, and it pushed on every nerve ending in its' path. I yelled 'Mother FUDGEnuggets!!!!' (I'm truly surprised I was able to sensor myself). It made the dr and my husband laugh, but when the dr left the room and DH saw the tears rolling down my face he knew it was serious. I have an uncanny high tolerance to pain and it takes a LOT to make me cry. I cried in agony all the way home, and we live 1hr away from my dr. Here it is almost 5hrs post-injection, and it still hurts. I honestly can NOT see myself doing another round of any viscosupplimentation ever again. I'm just glad it's done and over with, and in 6wks I'll be on my way to my long-awaited Fulkerson osteotomy. I truly hope everyone else out there gets relief from Euflexxa, and nobody has to go through what I've been through the last 3wks. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy (ok, maybe I would but I was raised better than that lol). Good luck to all my fellow knee people out there. I wish you all the very best. :)Read More Read Less

I'm only 31, and after 22yrs of knee pain and 2 failed surgeries on both knees, my OS prescribed Euflexxa. I was skeptical about it from day 1, and the thought of shoving needles in my knees didn't sit well with me (I'm a major needlephobe). I finally gave in and got my 1st shot 5 days ago. The 'procedure' itself was painless, since he sprayed Ethyl Chloride on my knee to numb it 1st. The spray was painful (for reasons unrelated to my knees) but I couldn't feel the needle at all! I walked out of his office just fine, only having that 'squishy jello' feeling. Several hours later, I was is so much pain I saw stars. My knee, lower back, and head all wanted to explode. My pain was easily 20 on a 1-10 scale and since then, my knee has been at a 7-8 every day. It's a constant pain that is making me physically ill, as well as draining all my strength and energy tryin to fight it. I'm beyond scared of shot #2, and how much worse it'll make me. I'm a full-time mother/housewife and simply cannot afford to be out of commission over something I've been aprehensive about all along. I must finish the shots though, since doing a Fulkerson without them would render me disabled. These next 7wks will be a torturous waiting game, hoping I'll get my osteotomy sometime in Aug. It's beyond time to fix the problem itself, instead of just fixing the symptoms temporarily.Read More Read Less

I was having extreme knee pain due to arthritis and knee cap damage. I couldn't be on my feet any longer than ten minutes until I had to sit down. With one Euflexxa injection I'm practically pain free. I'm looking forward to two more injections and hoping to stay pain free for several months.

After the 2nd injection I've started experiencing leg cramps. When I went to doctor today I told him and he injected the 3rd shot. However, while there he was feeling my calf and I was having leg cramps and ankle swelling. Off to the hospital for a Doppler and sonogram. Thankfully no blood clots but severe internal swelling, bakers cyst, popletial cyst and synovial cysts were found. All of which we knew. I don't know if this is a side effect or not.

I have had the 3 sets of shots six times now and have had no side effects. The shots are sometimes painful but not more than the pain without it. My Md is now thinking that I might have to stop getting them. I say that as long as it works, why stop? I'm waiting for a response now.
