Although this medication did improve my symptoms from fibromyalgia, it caused lymphedema in my legs severe enough I was unable to walk. Doctor had no idea it was a side effect of Lyrica. After I discontinued use if Lyrica my lymphedema left. Unfortunately though it now does not take long for any minor thing to cause swelling in my legs. I will never take medication again when it first hits the market.

50 mg twice daily for spinal nerve pain and fibromyalgia. So dizzy I couldn't walk a straight line. I almost fell down and had to use a walker for balance. I also had brain fog. I gave it a chance in hopes it would help my pain but it didn't do a thing. I wish it had worked for me like it did for others. 1/2 Hydrocodone works better but I still have some pain.

I am 80 years old and started taking lyrica 75 mg. 2 weeks ago for fibromyalgia. i had weakness in my arms and legs. My fatigue was so bad that i could not do anything, and I had the overall body pain. i was ready to go to a wheelchair. After one day of medication i am much stronger and without side effects.
At 80 I am not worried about addiction . I am happy to be able to be a part of my family again.

This medicine saved my life. I went to church for the first time in six years. I was bed bound from fibromyalgia and l am back to myself. Now l just look at my bed as of it was like it was my death chamber. I was laying in the bed for almost two years. I don't have to take my tramadol like l used to. I am so scared l will go back to that old person. My son said who are you are you my mom....My family is getting closer and l am happy

My APRN put me on 50mg pregabalin yesterday and told me to take it at bedtime. I immediately experienced a reduction in the nerve pain in my hands and feet. I also got a good nights sleep but this morning I can't function. I did drive to work, about 20 miles and I should not have done so. I am drowsy, disoriented, dizzy and can't walk a straight line. I won't take this again! I'd rather have the pain than to be a zombie.

I've been on it three weeks, and now have a torn rotator cuff out of the blue. Thanks, Lyrica! And thanks for the extra weight gain, too! Not worth the little bit of neuropathic pain relief I got in my feet.

I have been dealing with severe facial neuralgia for two years now after an auto accident. I have a been at a pain level of 10 for two years which is causing my life to spiral and deteriorate. I started taking this about nine days ago and have had no pain. I was on Norco six times a day prior to this. This medicine is amazing. I understand there’s a lot of reviews about weight gain and I’m not that concerned about that right now. I just try to go to the gym every single day and watch what I eat and drink tons of water. I’m hoping that in the future this will continue to work as good as it does today. This has been a total lifesaver.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed this 3 days ago for Fibromyalgia & Sciatica nerve pain. I also have Osteoarthritis. It is just 75mg taken at night but I prefer to take in the a.m. to benefit from it's help during the day. I noticed almost immediately my agonizing sciatica pain is almost gone (fingers crossed) & the horrible full body electrified nerves all over has subsided. My depression seems better & dark thoughts are gone. I no longer feel like my life is worthless at age 67. I've had this for a long time & had gotten to where walking anywhere was a debilitating impossibility. Just standing cooking was next to impossible. Days & nights of endless pain makes you crazy after a while. My mind was going to very dark places. Feeling useless, & having to ask for help constantly has gotten old. This medication is giving me hope. I will also be starting physical therapy soon to help me learn proper stretching & working out without hurting my body more. The med has already helped me be more mobile around my home along with thinking happier thoughts. I have noticed some constipation & less urination... am taking a stool softener & drinking lots more water to help. Also happily noticing a decrease in my appetite & no cravings for bad food. Going to also try to follow (modified) anti-inflammatory diet as the Dr recommended. This is day 3 & I have to say I never expected to have a medication help me as quickly as Lyrica has. If you suffer from fibromyalgia, I highly recommend this one. This is me on just 75mg a day, & I'm very hopeful (with fingers crossed) :)Read More Read Less

I was put on Lyrica after repeated cervical ablation proved ineffective for neck pain. My spine from C2 down to the lower lumbar is damaged from multiple myeloma. This drug is a game changer! The neck pain that was debilitating was reduced to just an annoyance. I thank God my pain doctor put me on this drug. I take 100mg twice a day and feel so much better!

The first time I took Lyrica, I took one 50 mg pill at dinner time. The next day, I felt like I was slightly tipsy, as if I had a glass of wine or two. I was, however, shaking, unable to speak fluently, and unable to walk a straight line. Since I am a professor, I decided not to take it again because fluent speech is very important to me. I experienced 3 days of withdrawal symptoms after that. After a single pill. I had diarrhea, I felt horrible, my entire body was brimming with activity in all nerves, I was in pain, I felt moderately depressed. A few weeks later, I tried Lyrica for two days in a row, same dosage. This time the withdrawal lasted for a full week. Already then I could see that it would be effective to manage my fibro pain and that I would "adapt" to it. But the withdrawal is just unbelievable. I have tried it two more times in recent years, in moments of despair with my pain. I always quit and I always went through scary intense physical and psychological withdrawal after minimal doses. This is quite possibly the most dependence causing drug out there. This is a very hard drug, you will never get off of it if you take it (its unlikely, it is just too difficult), and it causes acute cognitive decline. Regarding the psychological effects, what I notice is that in the first hours I feel good. About 15 hours after taking it, I feel a shift. The feeling of despair sets in. If I were to take Lyrica, I would have to take it multiples times a day, to never feel the levels going down, because that phase is dangerous. That is when the anguish and despair can lead easily to suicidal thinking and acting. So for me, this is hell in a pill. Read More Read Less

I have nerve damage in the back of neck and head from being ran over by a truck on my head & back. Lyrica has been the only medication so far that helps with my damaged nerves in these areas. The only part I don’t like is that it does knock me out, so I can only take it at night before bedtime.

At night between 2 and 4am I would wake up with severe pain on the top of my feet. It was excruciating and would keep me awake for 2 - 3 hours every single night. My doctor recommended kratom in low dose. I haven’t had that pain since 2017 with kratom use. Kratom is actually good for you. It is an evergreen tree in the coffee family native to Indonesia. This year the tingling and burning sensation started up. Lyrica worked immediately. In 2014 I was in Amman Jordan where all medications are sold over the counter. They do not however allow anything mind or body altering, meaning getting “high.” I bought some Lyrica there and had no foot pain the entire month I was there as a tourist. All doctors I have asked have told me Lyrica is not addictive and in my experience this is true. I support the use of Lyrica, no side effects for me anyway.Read More Read Less
