I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

Weak benzo, in my opinion. I have used them all, Ativan, Xanax, Valium, Klonopin... Klonopin is weak. My tolerance is so high to medications this was almost ineffective. I have to take 5mg valium for it to do any kind of calming for anxiety. Benzos almost seem worthless to me. I have had better relaxation with Clonidine.

This is a nasty drug. It causes severe depression day time anxiety attacks, heart flutters. I have suffered panic and anxiety since 1998 then they went away for a while now they are back. I have tried every antidepressant and the only one for me that has good results is celexa I also am on lamitical just started that a week ago. I have been on Klonopin since June 2012 and wondered why I was getting worse more depression more anxiety and panic nausea. I go to therapy too so down on myself for being this way again but had alot of trauma happen in too short of period they tell me. So going to go back to xanax not as long lasting but works alot better at least on that I wasnt stuck in the house crying all the time or my heart racing.Read More Read Less

Prescribed for my chronic anxiety to use as needed. Feel a light buzz at 1mg shortly after taking it but nothing else. At 2mg my anxiety begins to get reduced and mood is slightly boosted and every milligram above that reduces my anxiety accordingly but doesn't make me any more euphoric than the 2mg dose. Mood and anxiety are affected 30 minutes after dosing. Drowsiness kicks in a few hours after dosing. Memory and cognitive impairment can begin on as low as a 3mg dosage for me since I have little benzodiazepine tolerance built up. Doses above 3mg, watch out. Blackoutland and confusion while blacking out (I recorded myself). Too bad, because my anxiety was actually manageable for those 12 or 24 hours after dosing. I settle for 2mg doses. This way I avoid most of the drowsiness and avoid cognitive and memory impairment while getting to feel a slight mood boost and some anxiety relief. They are serious when they say don't combine with alcohol! Racing thoughts ensue and no euphoria from alcohol ever occurs while on Klonopin. Just inability to concentrate and racing thoughts; not worth it there.Read More Read Less

I have been on it for about a year now and, it really helps with my anxiety and panic attacks. Also,I have OCD and an eating disorder. Along with other medication this usually works well when I need to calm my racing thoughts. I do not have any bad side effects but, it can make you tired. It may not work for everone but, I've had a good experience with this medication.

I had black outs with this pill. My md said he had never seen this with any of his patients and would increase the med thinking it woould relieve the symptoms. After blacking out in my counselors office I was sent to ER then transfered to a Psych hosp. The Klonopin was stopped that night and in 48 hours I was back to myself. This stuff is dangerous.

I was given this drug to help me cope with caring for my mother who was diagnosed with terminal cancer. At first it seemed like a great thing because it numbed my anxiety. But I was quickly moved to a higher dose and whenever it would leave my system I would get the shakes and severe panic attacks (I never had a true "panic attack" until after I took klonopin). I wish I had never taken it. I wish the dr. that prescribed it had told me it was addictive. After taking klonopin for a year I realized I had to get off the stuff... 6 months of hell followed. I had seizures, half of my face was paralyzed, I had severe migraines and HORRID panic attacks. I couldn't sleep. It was awful. Now after 2 years after recovering I am somewhat back to my old self. I still have insomnia and occasional panic attacks that I did not have before. I wish I had never believed the dr. who said this would make coping with my Mother's illness and death easier. It made a difficult time of my life become a nightmare!Read More Read Less

I have experienced insomnia , increase in energy, restlessness, agitation....manic like symptoms. Should I go back to Valium? Klonopin did help, better with panic and agraphobia.
