I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I have severe panic disorder associated with post traumatic stress disorder. I've taken several drugs to treat the panic but Klonopin is the only effective drug I have found. I do take a larger dose than most people do but it works for me to control the panic and helps with sleeping.

My 22 year old developmentally delayed daughter started with .5 mg. twice a day along with the Luvox and Abilify she has been taking to treat her anxiety and aggressive behaviors. Almost right away she seemed very drugged and kept falling asleep. She was dizzy and began drooling. Needless to say we discontinued it and need to find something else which we hope will work.

Klonopin is a great medication to "turn off my brain", and this helps reduce the likelihood of anxious overnights. However, it has to be taken early enough to prevent lingering effects the following morning. The drug also has helped reduce the panic associated with airplane flights.

I finally have peace without panic attacks! Thanks to Klonopin. I am prescribed .05 3 times daily. It does not make me sleepy until I lay down at night and then I sleep better than I ever have before. This medicine and 60mg of Cybalta has made me a different person. I finally look forward to getting out of bed and handling anything that is thrown my way; without the worry of panic attacks.

Effectiveness: When it works, IT WORKS. However, It can make me a little bit nervous sometimes. Also, it sometimes makes my heart race...one time, I clocked my heart rate at about 110 beats per minute, and this doesn't help as I am constantly stressing out over my heart. But I doubt this will happen to you; I've got a very strange heart! Ease of Use: Yes, it's easy to use. All I do is pop the pill in my mouth and swallow...it's that easy. Satisfaction: It's got its pros and cons. Like they say: "you can't have your cake and eat it too."Read More Read Less

I have General Anxiety Disorder and did have a social phobia. After using Xanax for a number of years I became tolerant. I was switched to Klonopin and have been on the same six mgs a day (three 2mg doses a day) for ten years or so. It still works as well as the day I first took it. It does not give be the "out-of-it" feel I disliked about Xanax. I am extremely satisfied with its results.

As A Vietnam Vet with PTSD, this was the only drug that controlled my out of control panic attacks. I have been on it since 1990 and without it I probably would be dead.
