I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I take two 0.5 tablets bid and have had good results. I am being treated for anxiety and the only problem I ever had was when I decided to reduce the amount of meds I was taking and just stopped. At about 2 days I had a strange type of seizure which mystified my psychiatrist. I suddenly just froze for I don't know how long and I could think but not move. I was standing and did not fall. Scared the heck out of me. Never stop taking any med without discussing with your dr.

its actually hard to take this drug as its prescribed because the feeling after taking it is very addictive including for me b/c i am a teenage guy. if your on this medication for panic disorder only take it when you have a panic attack b/c if you take it just regularly you may easily become hooked to its sedative feeling only a few minutes after taking it so just keep on eye on your consumption of the drug.

I've taken Klonopin for several years and the dose went from 1mg. twice a day to 0.5 mg.4 times a day (due to gastric bypass surgery which causes loss of absorbtion by the colon which is decreased by 3 feet.)I rarely have an attack but sometimes felt anxious till anafranil was added. I think I have the side effect of hair loss from my head and hair growth on my face! Oh well...

GPD. Took med for 9-10 years - At the beginning Dr. prescribed 2mg a day...too much, always sleepy. .5mg, once a day worked for me for the time I took it. The long term affect of the daily dose kept me at an even keel unlike Xanax. Weaned myself off, with Dr.s knowledge. Decreased a 1/2 dose every two weeks until I stopped. Side Effects: I was sometimes clumsy, fell a couple of times...shattered my kneecap, tripped up stairs and down. Then I read it adds to Osteo. Am now exercising, eating healthy. Doing my best to control any panic attacks that I feel may be coming on. Of course, therapy during that time helped me...deep breathing, subtracting 3 from 100, walking, drinking water (this is during a panic attack. I have only had the beginning of a couple panic attacks since. Have been off for two years, now. But you should have a therapist you can trust, who deals with panic disorder. Meds can help, but I found that learning to live with a disorder you can try to control through therapy has saved my life. I'm not saying I will never use Klonopin again, because if I need to I will go back on it. I loved the calm feeling it gave me. Read More Read Less

I have been on kolonopin for about 4 weeks now and it seems to be working, makes me a little sleepy, but the benefits out weigh the side effect.

I take this for Panic and Anxiety disorders along with Citalopam (Celexa). My doctor prescribed it on an as-needed basis whenever I feel a panic attack coming on. I have to say it works amazing. I have an extremely stressful job, along with being a full-time student so things can get pretty hectic. All I need to do is take a dose of Klonopin and it calms me down without feeling "high" or "out of it", and allows me to focus on what I really need to do. Also, it solved my sleep problems when taken at night. On the down side, it (along with Celexa) has made me gain almost 50 lbs--time to hit the gym. Overall very satisfied, just be careful about withdrawal if you take it regularly.Read More Read Less

I take this med at bedtime. I never wake up groggy and feel somewhat relaxed and ready to tackle the day. The drug, however, takes a while before I drift off to sleep. Very little side effects and find the drug much more effective than lorazeapam and and alzoproam.

I have tried almost everything out there for panic/anxiety attacks and Nothing works better and the Dr always comes back to Clonazepan. I am an unique person as to how and which med's work on me, but this has basically made life livable for me

I am 29 and just had my first panic attack ever and ended up in the ER thinking I was dying. Went to the Dr and he perscrived Effexor XR and Klonopin. Klonopin works wonders when my panic attacks come about.

This is a fabulous drug for those who suffer from panic attacks and generalized anxiety. Keeps me functioning daily. Unfortunately after being on it for 2 years I became totally dependant. After titrating off of 2mg's daily I suffer severe panic attacks frequently over the next 9 mos. and finally had to switch doctors to get back on it. Feeling great now, but am on 3mg's daily. I worry that I will never be able to stop this med because my body has become habituated to the drug.

The medication is very helpful at handling anxiety. However, I have noticed that its effectiveness has lessened over time. Be sure to keep your doctor updated on how helpful your medication is.
