I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I was put on Klonopin along with Lexapro because I live with my mom and have no way of getting out right now. She drives me INSANE and after my doctor put me on the Klonopin I noticed I am much calmer and she doesn't bother me as much!

I've been taking Klonopin along with Zoloft for less than 2 years, and I recently stopped taking Zoloft, and at the same time that I stopped Zoloft, the Dr told me to stop the Klonopin. I was taking .5mg once a day along with 50mg of Zoloft a day. I cut the Zoloft to 25mg a day for a week, then 25mg every other day for a week before stopping altogether. I took the .5mg of Klonopin 3 times a day at first, then 2 then once day. I've been off of Klonopin and Zoloft for a week now, but I've been feeling some lightheadedness. I called the Dr today and he's putting me back on Klonopin once a day before bed. I finally just read up on the side affects and addictiveness. I don't believe I've ever felt addicted to it - maybe cuz of the low dosage. Don't know why my Dr had me stop cold turkey after all the side affects I've been reading on it. Hopefully my lightheadness will go away and my anxiety disorder doesn't return...Read More Read Less

I suffer with panic attacks, I went a month without it and nearly lost my mind and wanted to die, I am currently on .05mg twice a day and I have never felt better, I have taken this drug for a long time it has saved my life, it is addictive but I have to be on it or I cannot function. Just use as prescribed and your fine.

Every doctor that I went to over the course of 12 years continued to refill Klonopin, never telling me of the addictive nature of the drug. I had to go to detox and treatment and was told that Klonopin will remain in my central nervous system and brain for 8 - 18 months after stopping. I also had to take medication for the first 2 weeks to keep from having seizures.

Klonopin DOES NOT WORK for panic disorder. I have been on it for several months now and it does not help at all with my panic disorder/PTSD. I might as well be taking a sugar pill.

This has worked for me. Although I think I may be addicted to it. I have to keep increasing the doses. I take 3 pills now. Last summer I ran out, while planning my daughters wedding , I ran out, and had terrible withdrawl symptoms. Should have called my doctor and gradually stopped. But all in all this medicine really works.
