I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

After about a week I have suffered memory loss, saying the wrong words, am sleepy all the time, clumsy, kind of out of it, have bouts with panic, and wonder if it is for me. Maybe a reduced dosage (I take 2 a day).

I've been on this med for stress and anxiety for over 2 years now and couldn't be happier. My shrink has me on 1mg three times a day and I feel like that person I used to be. This may not be the med for you but I can now handle my daily life without screaming, throwing things, or just wanting to curl up in a ball. It has also gone a long way in helping me cope with my son who is ADHD, Dyslexic, Bi-polar, and soon to be 15. LOL. Those pesky co-workers, that used to work that last nerve, no longer seem to be in as much need of having some sense knocked into them. Again LOL. My boyfriend also appreciates the fact that I'm back to my old mellow self. I don't know how long I'll be on this med but it has done wonders for me.Read More Read Less

I had been taking Ativan for over 12 years. I had three falls and my doctor thought it was time to change my meds. He put me on .5MG twice a day. He told me that this drug flushes from your body quicker than Ativan will. But now my short term memory is getting worse and my blood pressure has fallen. This could be because I am laid off and at home, not getting emough excersize. I had no problems when I was working. It is addicting, but I don't think I could function without it. Next trip to the doc. I'm going to check on going back on the Ativan again. See what he thinks. I functioned well on Ativan for years, but I am getting older now. Read More Read Less

I have been on Klonopin for 2 years only because i am addicted to it and can't get off. It does not work as well as xanax or ativan. Please consider the extreme addiction side affect before taking this medication.

The treatment is mostly okay,I have experienced shock like feelings in my head, and anxiety from the wrong generic, different pharmacies have different supply companies, I have been on this med for 6 yrs at a relative low dose, but now I can't get off, my body is addicted to this med and I'll never get off it and I'm 43 now and have taken all kinds of drugs for panic and anxiety disorder+ Bipolar disorder+ spontaneous anger disorder, and with the other meds I take I should be able to cope but can't, so I"m waiting for a better drug to get me off this one, and I am not a weak person, 71/2 weeks ago I quit smoking cold turkey and survived that, I smoked for 29 yrs.Read More Read Less

I was put on clonazepam (Klonopin) for moderate mid-day anxiety (as needed only) and for REM sleep behavioral disorder (this is basically where you act out dreams -- not to be confused with sleepwalking, which doesn't occur during dreams normally). The medication has worked fairly well for both conditions, and the only side effect is mild sedation when I take it midday. My nightly higher dose (2mg) helps me sleep (and keep in one place during dreams!!), so I don't have any criticism of it for that usage.Read More Read Less

I have had panic disorder for over 13yrs and I have been taking Klonopin for about 4yrs with Effexor XR. Its a good combo for me. I have had the memory loss side effect. I take 4 mg a day and i feel tired most of the day I am going to start tapering down on the Klonopin and the Effexor because I have been on too long. Klonopin is a dangerous addictive med. BE CAREFUL while taking it. Take all precautions if you up your dose.

For a long time I have been feeling anxious, and not only anxious but I was getting these "heart attack" alike feeling as if I can't breathe. I went to go see a doctor (an MD by the way) he told me there was nothing wrong w/ my heart, and of course because my age he told me that those feelings I get didn't have to do with the heart. He assumed that I have a Panic disorder/ Generalized Anxiety. So he referred me to a Pshychiatrist, she diagnosed me and so ironic it was what the doctor assumed. My Pshychiatrist started me on Anti-depressants, and all the above. I went through a whole lot of medications till my Pshyc said "I'm going to try you on a class of medications called Benzodiazepines" he explained everything about benzos. So he started me on Klonopin .5 it work "arlight" for me. Still couldn't sleep and I was still getting panic attacks here and there. So he increased the Milligrams, from .5 to 1MG. Now I started sleeping like a normal person that has no sleeping disorders, and my panic attacks were supressed. I mean I still got them but they weren't as severe and sometimes I would feel like i'd get one but for what ever the medicine chemistry reason it blocked the panic/ anxiety attack. I say Klonopin is the right medication for Panic/ Sleeping and Generalized anxieties. But like they say "Different strokes for different folks" wouldn't hurt to give a low dose of Klonopin a try, if it does its job then perfect, you got yourself a good treatmeant for your Panic/ sleeping disorders... Klonopin is GREAT! By the way (BTW) Iam still on 1mg and it's still working fine for me, though I haven't tried to ween myself off of them, anyone has any suggestions on getting off Clonazepams? I am very Satisfied.Read More Read Less
