I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

Okay i have been taking klonopin for 5 years now. It worked really well at first i still would have panic attacks but not nearly as bad. This medication has caused me over the years to become sluggish cant remember things cant sleep well wieght gain and the list just goes on and on. I seriously would only recommend this drug for short term use only.I am not addicted to this medication however after losing my son i dont know how to deal? I am wondering if anyone has any ideas how to tapper off of this medication? was also wondering if anyone has experienced wieght gain?Read More Read Less

I was first prescribed zanax for anxiety/panic attacksbut the effectiveness wasn't very good after a while so, I was prescribed Klonopin, 1 mg. 3X per day as needed. I took them all three times per day. Then, I lost my insurance and was unable to get refills due to no $$ for Dr. visit to get refill. For the first month being off klonopin, I was fine...then, w/out any warning my anxiety came back even worse than before. It was so bad, I couldn't sleep, couldn't breath, and was feeling extremely moody and even suicidal. Since I've been back on the meds, things are better but now I only take maybe 2 per day and try not to take any before bed since when I do, I feel totally useless the next day. I don't want to wake up and worse...get out of bed. If I take them during the day, my mood stabilizes somewhat and I can make myself get things done that I need to. I think though, when it's time to get a refill, I'm going to ask the Dr. to give me a higher dose of Zanax. They really do seem to work better and don't make me as tired.Read More Read Less

Definitely works for me to stop my panic attacks and also to help stop the fear of having them. I put it under my tongue if I need the medication to work in a fast manner for me, if I think I feel a panick attack coming on. Helps with my GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) by producing a calming effect by taking it regularly. I seem to build a resistence to it though as I have been using it a long time. I believe I need a medication adjustment for the drug. I certainly can be habit forming and if you go off it suddenly you put yourself at risk for other afflictions such as seizures. It also hels me to get to sleep.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed Klonopin 6 yrs ago to help during a panic attack. I was put on .5mg, but told to take one when I feel an attack coming on. This medication works quickly during an attack (within 30 minutes is calms the attack and my attacks can last hours). I do not take this on a regular basis, some weeks none and others I take it a few times a week. It also helps me sleep which is typically when I have the attacks. Had not heard about the memory loss issue, but my husband would probably agree that this might be occuring! I keep it in my purse in case of an attack while I am out and about. When one comes on I put one under my tongue and it dissolves.Read More Read Less

I was prescribed for non-sleeping and did not know it was habit forming. I would like to get off of this medication but do not seem to have any success.

I have been struggling with anxiety and panic attacks for about 5 years now. I have been on dozens of different meds with varying degrees of success until I tried Klonopin. Nothing has worked this well with so few side affects. And I have not had any problems with addiction to it, and I am prone to addiction.

Right away I noticed this medecine working for me. However, and this may no sound so important to some, but it's affected my personal lifestyle, especially when I like to sit and habe a few drinks with my friends on the weekends. I haven't had a drink in 3 weeks since I've staryted it and it's affecting me emotionally because it's interfering with my social life.
