I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

After a 30 day continuous panic attack resulting from a misdiagnosis that I had a life threatening disease, a clinical psychiatrist prescribed Kolonpin with Zoloft. After my first dose of Klonopin, I was able to sleep for more than a few hours at a time for the first time in more than 30 days. Klonopin saved my life. Without it, I'm sure that I would have committed suicide. After the Zoloft "kicked in," I had no need for the Klonopin anymore, and had no withdrawl problems or side affects at all. Needless to say, I had no life-threatening disease, and I am in great health 10 years after the misdiagnosis. Read More Read Less

I have taken only .5 mg or 1/2 tablet(1 mg tab). It makes me very drowsy but I haven't had a "big" panic attack(heart pounding, shortness of breath, etc). I have had tingling of legs & arms and weakness since I started a week ago. My docor is planning to discontinue the drug in about a month. That worries me. Panic attacks are scary and I feel very dangerous.

Klonopin has been a serious life saver for me. I was unable to go outside of my house due to how extreme my panic attacks were. Klonopin makes me feel normal and lets me be more social and outgoing. Sometimes I feel drowsy but that is the only side effect I have had with this drug. I would recommend it to anyone. I wouldn't be able to function without it. It feels so good to finally be able to breathe slowly and have a normal heartbeat.

I think this drug is causing me to feel a shuddering sensation in the early morning before being fully awake. The shuddering is internal and comes in waves of several seconds. I take only 25 to 50 mg a day. Has anyone else had this experience with klonopin?

I have Generlized Anxiety. Klonopin has been very effective in relieving the worst symptoms. Such as a tingling sensation through my whole body. This tingling in turn causes me to be unable to move around freely. Another symptom is headache when I talk, this medication gives relief. Another symtom is trouble concentrating, and my voice becoming very hoarse. I have been taking this medication for 19 years, with minimal side affects.

I have been switching from valium to klonopin for the last 15 yeaes ive went through severe depression associated with panic attacts but the meds have different chemistry so they switch every 6 months to a year so i dont have to always take more im doing better then i used to i think xanax is always usedb but i was extremly addicted to it where the valium or clonipin seems to not have the quick good feeling anfd then you can stay awake the clonapin you take high dose you sleep same as valium so thats why i use the clonipin and valium are least addictive.Read More Read Less

Can't remember how long I've been taking, my memory is terrible! Take 1mg at bedtime and can't go down. My anxiety has improved and I feel I don't need as much but I'm not able to decrease dose. Tried for 2 days and it was like nothing I've experienced! I didn't think I was going to make it, had to give in. Any suggestions?

DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS DRUG!! I was given this medication over 4 years ago to calm me during a stomach disorder. Then during my divorce mI can not leave my house.y dosage was upped to 1 to 3mgs as needed. Do not ever take this drug. It is highly addictive. I have been trying to get off for 3 months now. The withdrawal symptoms are unbearable. I feel worse then I ever did when i started taking this drug.

These benzodiazipines are the worst drugs anyone can take. One has to take a proactive role in their anxiety. In other words it takes work(excersise daily, proper eating habits to prevent hypoglycemia, inner pscyhe work) it is too easy to reach for a pill. This drug has ruined my sisters life, and almost ruined mine after being on it(ativan which is related to Klonopin)I have been off it for over a year, got my real estate licenses and my MOTIVATION back.Watch out for this drugs poisonous tentacles

While I agree that Klonopin is very effective, like any benzo-diazapan they also come with severe risks. It is so addictive it is the only drug besides alcohol that can actually kill you if you stop taking it without a doctor supervising. This can mean that some people who have never abused drugs can end up in a detox center if they have been on a high dose for a lot of years. I do not understand why the drug companies have not found something as effective without the deadly side effects. It's pretty sad that heroin, cocaine, meth, all illegal drugs do not have the risk of killing you while detoxing but something legal and prescribed does. I do believe there are many people who really need these types of medications but I also believe they are overperscribed as an easy fix to panic attacks. They should be a last resort only and doctors should tell the patients how highly addictive and deadly they can be. I have honestly seen it ruin lives, and I will honestly admit for all my anger against benzo-diazapans I am still afraid of being off it.I would recommend people to try DBT therapy, it has helped me and I plan on continuing it to help me cope, your phychotherapist/counsler should be able to do this for you. In DBT, patients are not told that their feelings are wrong, but rather that they need to find a more positive way to manage them,They learn mindfulness, stepping back and being conscious of the moment without judging it as good or bad, and other emotion regulating skills, so that their feelings have less influence on their behavior. They also learn distress tolerance, coping with situations as they are -- and methods of self-soothing and distraction. It has worked wonders for me!Read More Read Less
