I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

I have been using klonopin for restless leg syndrome for about three years. I take one 1mg tablet nightly, about one hour before bedtime. It has been very effective; however, I wonder about long term use side effects, if there are any. I am 73 years old, male, retired.

My doctor prescribed this for me because I was having trouble sleeping at night caused by an overwhelming amount of stress due to a family tragedy. I only take a 1/2 mg each night. I had no idea it was addicting and that so many people have been taking it for years. Nor did I know that it's similar to Xanax. I certainly don't want to be on this forever!

I started taking this drug recently for panic, pretty good so far, but doctor also prescribed Lexapro. Anyone have that combo or is the big combo Klono. and Zoloft? Thank you.

This drug is a life saver for me. Without it I would be unable to go to work or attend to my children. I take as needed (once a week usually) and it has never failed me. I did take more often in the past, but have gradually taken contol of my life again so use less often.

This medication was prescribed last year after leg vein surgery. I did not take any of it, as I have no idea why my doctor gave it to me. I just found it in my medicine cabinet today and could not remember getting it. Maybe my husband had it filled for me. I am angry that it was prescribed. The only reason I was given it must be because the doctor said during surgery, I was restless and could not be still. I have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease and I am never able to stay in one position for long. I take issue with the implication.Read More Read Less

I take this only as needed. Small dose, 0.5 mg. Really helps alot when I become stressed out & have an anxiety attack. No problems with addiction. I work in a stressful job. It doesn't stop me from doing my job. I only take it about 2-3 times a week.

i have been taking clanzopams for a while now i am suppose to take 2x a day but i only use them when i have panic attacks. it works extremely well i must say that it is not at all an addictive medicine unless you let it be. i only take it when i need it and have no problems with it effecting my everyday life. this medication has saved my life and let me live a life with my children where as before i would have been too stressed out and anxious to be a good mommy.

Personally, I've never been "prescribed" this drug. My ex-GF was on Crackopin, along with a variety of other drugs such as lithium, Zyprexa, Prozac, Wellbutrin, Lexapro and a variety of other drugs to treat symptoms of bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, depression and anxiety/panic attacks. At first, she wasn't on these meds (she was on them previously, but went off for a while). She went back on, and completely changed over to a different and doped up person. I realized after a while that she has problems that I couldn't understand, and that perhaps she needed these meds to cope (I'm not a psychiatrist, so I don't know). Anyway, she was put on certain drugs, she was taken off those drugs if they didn't work, and then she was put on a different combination of drugs to see how that worked. It appeared that her doctor was playing guinea pig with her, putting her on so many different drugs she was always totally doped up. Now, don't take this review as an expert opinion. Just take it as an opinion of someone who has witnessed second hand the effects of these kind of drugs. At one point, I took 10 mg of Klonopin and man, I can say it is overwhelming. I would never do it again. My GF convinced my friend to try to take a 10mg, and he was all whacked out for 24 hours. He woke up the next day and was still all messed up. In conclusion, be very careful when going on these drugs. They develop dependency and I would want someone else to get into this mess unless it is an absolute necessity. Question your doctor thoroughly if considering getting on any of these types of drugs.Read More Read Less

Will work at times to control my anxiety but at times the anxiety takes over and is uncontrollable. I find myself becoming more irritable and aggitated and it seems to be increasing. I have tried depression meds on top of Klonopin but the sexual side affects are always a problem for me. I do not want to become dependant on medication but it seems the only way to treat this disorder is through medication.

Seems to be habit forming, When dosage decreased to get to a point of stopping, I found that I suffered from severe Insomnia. I took Clonasopham (Klonopin) to deal with pain in my lower legs that keep me awake at night. It worked wonders and kept my restlessness down. I still worry about the long term effects, so that is why I discussed decreasing to the point of stopping for a while.

I started this medication in 2004 after a car accident. I developed muscle twitches at bedtime, which interfered with my sleep. This medication was not prescribed correctly. As I found out this September 2009 from an addiction specialist, medications in this class are meant for short-term use only. Looking back, I can see that many of my physical problems and memory issues over the last few years were a result of Klonopin, but the problems didn't really start until last year when I developed tolerance withdrawal. Now I am off of it completely. Please google this drug before you agree to take it beyond two weeks. It has stolen 5 years from me. There are reasons why so many people seem so dramatic online. Think about why they're saying it. Read More Read Less

I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have suffered just about all of the things that they say "may" happen, including losing complete feeling in my lower body for 6 hours and flailing all over the place. They thought I was seizing and having a stroke. People, DO NOT GO ON THIS MED OR ANY BENZODIAZAPINE! I have never used drugs in my life; not even weed. And I am addicted to what I consider the worst family of drugs there is. You can't go to detox as you can't stop cold turkey. It is a process that can take years. My life has been so effected by this. I've lost communication with my children and have developed agoraphobia from this. I don't have a life. I am alone. It sucks. Oh, I have beautiful to my waist hair and it is falling out. So tell me, WHY are doctors allowed to hand this stuff out like candy? I didn't know it was even addictive as both of my doctors told me that stopping it was "no big deal", AND I BELIEVED THEM. I realized I was no longer anxious and decided to stop....that is when the hell began and I almost died. Thank you for reading. Read More Read Less
