I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I had to keep calling into work sick or leaving early because of panic attacks. Ativan wasn't helping much. I take 2mg's of Klonopin every morning. If I don't take them, my nervous system goes haywire. The only problem is blackouts if you drink.

Due to death of my child, doctor put me on this drug. It does work, but after 18yrs I feel like an addict to it. I want off of it, but don't see how. Also had anti-depressents but none work like this. So life my life stays in the depressing stage and I really hate the way I exist. I would get both arms and legs to feel mentally like I did prior to 3/1991, but that would mean my 9yr old daughter would still have to be living and that can't happen. I guess this is how I will die!

I would give up my right arm before giving up my klonopin. My panic attacks had become debilitating. I started taking this drug in 2001. I only take 1.5 mg. a day, but it works! I also take Celexa (20 mg) a day. Together they have kept my panic attacks at bay.

Was given .5mg for sleep because of the nighttime panic attacks. The less sleep I had, the more anxiety and panic attacks I would have in severity and quantity. I have been on this for about 6 months and although I still have other 'issues' at least I am sleeping decently for the first time in ten years. No side effects, no daytime fatigue, just feeling more normal, some nervousness still but only a few full blown panic attacks in this time frame which is far better than the nightly attacks I had endured for several years. I hope this can continue till everything else is taken care of; my brain needs restorative sleep to help everything else. Without that, I cannot help myself to get better.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Klonopin for about 2 years for the treatment of Insomnia that comes with Fibromyalgia. I most of the "newer" sleep aids & they did nothing, so we tried a few "older" less expensive drugs & this one was the charm. I take 2mg tablets, 1-2 as needed. I do find I need the 2, but within 5 minutes I am asleep & pretty much stay asleep. It's been great to finally be able to sleep again.

The medication stopped the horrible mania I was in, but now seems to have leveled off and is not treating all of the mania. I am on 1mg 3 times a day and wonder if my mg dose should be adjusted in the AM since that is when the mania seems to be the worse.

My doctor took me off Ativan because my new insurance didn't cover it and gave me Klonipin, saying it lasts longer than Ativan. I was on Ativan for seven years. The doc sd only take when needed. Well, one night I felt a big panic coming on slowly which meant it may last longer than usual. That was at 6 p.m., I took one as directed, even broke it in half. Forty-five minutes later, my panic was slowly increasing, and I was trying to control it. I looked at the directions on the bottle. My prescription was only for 0.5mg and my Ativan prescription was for 2 mg. Well, since it was now an hour later and my chest was constricting. So, I take another one and wait and hour, then another and wait an hour. Finally, after my fourth one, equaling 2mgs, it still wasn't working. I guess it is long acting because it takes so long to actually start working compared to Ativan. Eight and a half hours later, it started to work, at 230am. My doctor said take only if need be but this medication doesn't work that way for me. I cannot wait 8.5 hours for a Panic Pill to work! That isn't a help, Ativan works faster, now that I only take when I need because I don't want to be carrying around my liver or kidneys in a cooler when and if I reach 80 yrs. old. I have a doctor appointment soon and boy are we going to go rounds about this! I have a life to live in the meantime between panic attacks, so I am getting my Ativan back.Read More Read Less

Been taking klonopin for about a year. I took it before and decided to go off the medicine cold turkey. BIG MISTAKE. Didn't sleep for a week. Felt the anxiety ten-fold. I stayed off it for about six months. But my quality of life was low. Had anxiety over the mildest things. Went back on it, and I honestly can't see myself without it ever again.

Before going on Klonopin, I was scared to get in the shower, go to the store, even drive my children to school. Since being on this medication, I feel great...and finally "normal." I honestly believe that Klonpin saved my life!
