I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

This is drug is wonderful it has helped me find the real me. I was diagnosed with postpartum OCD after my second child. I was having horrible anxiety attacks that would even wake me while I sleeped. (I have suffered from anxiety for as long as I can remember but not OCD.) After taking this drug for 2 days I saw a huge imporvement with my OCD and anxiety. I can now get on the interstate without major anxiety and my OCD is very manageable now. This drug has helped me out big time!!

I started with brand name klonopin 12 years ago and was gradually changed to the generic. After suffering many panic attacks for as long as I can remember, I'm now able to feel normal again.

My neuro prescribed this for me to help me sleep at night, after I had suffered a seizure during sleep. I had a sleep study done, and it showed I had restless legs during sleep. Her reasoning for putting me on this medication was to help lessen those movements, and hopefully let me get more sleep. (I had trouble sleeping, as well) I am taking .5 mg, but that didn't seem to help, so we upped to 1 mg. I think I am anxious to go to sleep, considering the seizure happened in my sleep. So, the calming effect helps in that department. It is working like a charm. Read More Read Less

I have had good luck with Klonopin. I take 0.5 mg. 3x's a day and have been for about 7 years. My doctor told me not to worry if I have to take it the rest of my life. It has helped me with menopause.

I've had crohns since 1973,had several hospitalations and operations,in fact been in the hospital in 06,07,08,for flares. I got to talking to my family doctor and came to the conclusion that in addition to depression,I was experencing chronic social anxiety. I was put on klonipin jan.09,and my life has completely turned around, I have'nt had a flare since 08. Not sure but I do'nt think my GI.docter thinks that has anything to do with it.I've had crohns for 37yrs.,I know my body quite well,I think improving my depression and anxiety has made a great improvement with my crohns,I'm not saying everyone with crohns should do this. This is just my experence. there wasnt really a good catagory for why I was treated with this years ago, CAUTION!!!!! DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG! I was depressed and had anxiety disorders and this drug gave me the inability to make decisions, not be able to understand what I was doing and how severe my actions were. I attempted suicide twice while on this drug. After stopping due to this I had a severe seizure and had to be put on something else till I was able to be off the drug. I am on no drugs today and funtion quite well. I lost everything dear to me when this happened. Please think and consider whether you really need drugs or counseling. If your doctor wants you on this and you actually do need something please use caution and make sure the doctor takes blood tests and monitors your chemicals in your body.Read More Read Less

I have taken Klonopin off and on for a year or so. It's great for controlling my break through anxiety, that I still suffer from on occasion. I also take BuSpar and together, these two medications are working great.

I have anxiety really bad from life alterating situations that have happened in the last 2 years which were very hard for me to cope with. I would cry from frustration because I was so full of anxiety that I could not do the most simple everyday tasks. I couldnt sleep, eat, or go to work and I love my job. I started taking klonopin which actually gave my body a rest, and calmed me so I was able to function again. I am on .5 mg which is perfect for me. I also started going to therapy which worked wonders....Read More Read Less

I was unable to sleep at night...i would lay down and it was like my thoughts would race constantly. My doctor prescribed this drug to help me sleep and it has worked wonders. I take it and wake feeling well rested. I have noticed if I take it and don't get enough sleep(I have a toddler so I don't always get as much sleep as needed) I do feel very sleep/groggy. But aside from that this medication has done exactly what I needed it to do.

Started out many moons ago on Xanax and talk therapy for panic attacks. Stopped Xanax and then had to restart but at a higher dose to be effective. Have been on the same dose of Klonopin (0.5 mg twice daily) for many years now. Keeps panic disorder under control and tolerable as far as physical symptoms, constant doomsday thinking, etc. Klonopin is NOT helpful for specific phobias in my personal experience. I have tried tapering off several times over the years but always go back to med because my body is highly habituated now. In my opinion, would have to go to drug rehab to get off of it if I had to. But I look at it similarly to a diabetic who needs insulin to maintain a normal life. If it helps me to live normally, why fight it? I am just wondering what the long term use side effects will be. This would NOT be a drug of choice for anyone with an addictive personality.Read More Read Less
