I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat foods!! I had no clue. I tried all the Vitamins, minerals, herbs (esp. Kava, and Valerian) commonly recommended for anxiety; minimal to no relief! Tried dieting, exercise, meditating, even candles and soothing Music! NOTHING, nada and zip! Then, at 28, I finally had medical benefits, and saw a psychiatrist. Long story short: I was prescribed Clonazepam .5mg twice daily for my dreadful high anxiety. (I was also prescribed Adderall for ADHD and Remeron for Insomnia). Within 1 hr, I felt so much CALMER, RELAXED, MELLOW, and slept like a baby the FIRST DAY! Virtually no side effects either; just a little drowsy and sleepy the first 3 or 4 days. ZERO PANIC ATTACKS! I researched Clonazepam thoroughly and am well aware of all the bad rap it has got: Abuse, withdrawal syndrome, dependence, etc. Everyone's inner-chemistry is like a box of chocolates: You never know.. blah blah! Trial and error; works for some, paradoxical anxiety for only 1% of patients, the 'o-my-god-I-have-to-take pills' 'phoebes that try to stop taking the very solution that works....Duh! Yet, I know it doesn't work for everyone (they can have my Valerian--it's gathering dust!) Bottom line: Communicate w your Doctor!! And, If Clonazepam works, it works! Period! I've been taking it for well over a year, and I have FINALLY completed TWO COLLEGE SEMESTERS! 4.0 GPA! How's that for a 'side effect' of an anxiety-treatment plan? I rest my case. Clonazepam (and Remeron) has really helped me live a more productive life free of debilitating panic, insomnia, and anxiety! I even stopped drinking! Just beautiful.Read More Read Less

Ive been having anxiety issues for a couple of years since ive had my son and he started getting into things. I tried zoloft before this drug and my husband and I both noticed the difference. Im on 0.5mg twice a day if needed. So far ive only had to take it once every other day. My body is very sensitive to medicine so the doc started me on a low dose. I dont know if its adictive but the way i see it is if it helps me deal with everyday things and my 3 and 2 year old grow up knowing that mommie loves them and is okay, then its worth it. Both of my kids are a handfull and i didnt have anxiety this bad until after i had my son. Id rather be on medicine to deal with my energetic kids than put them on it. And the good thing is that now my world isn't upside down. Sometimes we have no choice but to take medicine. As much as I hate taking medicine I LOVE MY KIDS MORE.Read More Read Less

I have been taking Klonopin off and on for years gradually increasing to 2mg. or 3mg. every evening without any obvious side effects. But I noticed 3 yrs ago that my hair was getting thinner and has grown thinner & thinner and I finally read the printout from the pharmacy where it said thinning hair is one of the side effects of Klonopin. I have been gradually decreasing the dose to 0.5mg and see my psychiatrist tomorrow.

I have taken this drug for quite sometime. I only take it as needed. Just knowing that I have it in case of a panic attack makes me feel calmer. It works quickly and rarely makes me sleepy. I probably only have to fill my prescription of 90 pills about 2 times per year or so. I have had no dependency problems with this drug as other people have.

I would like to let people out there know tha this drug does work great for most people, however taking it for long periods of time is NOT recommended. This is coming from personal experience. I have wanted to die when I tried tapering off. Another thing to be AWARE of is that the SSRI and SNRI pharmacutical companies may claim they are not habit forming - WRONG - just as hard to quit. Of course everybody will respond differently, but my honest opinion is if you need help only use meds minimaly and look for other methods, such as therapy, excercise, yoga, etc. I am not a doctor nor claim to be a medical expert. I just have personal experiencs and have done exstensive research regarding these meds. If they change brain chemistry - most likely there will be fairly severe side effects when deciding to quit. I hope that helps.Read More Read Less

Let me please start by saying, I have taken Lexapro, Welbutrin, Paxil, and ZSoloft for anxiety/Panic Disorder. It was always coupled with Klonopin...so for five years I was taking just Klonopin...I wanted to wean my self from this drug...not easy...I can not believe that a nutritional supplement..MaxGXl actually helped tremendously. I do not sell this product, but I do recommend doing a bit of research...I sleep better, memory improved, eyesite improved...no more iratablity, and my overall demeanor is vastly improved...just a thought for all of u who are taking klonopin...good luck to all , as you attempt to wean yourself slowly from this drug...Read More Read Less

This stuff has really worked for my panic and anxiety attacks. It's really worth trying for those who have tried everything else and come up short.

I started taking Klonopin for panic attacks about 2 years ago. I rated it as being effective because it does do a great job relieving panic attacks. I gave this med a low satisfaction rate because it is SO hard to come off of. PLEASE take this med AS NEEDED - do not take it daily like I have been doing. I am starting to taper off the drug and its giving me worse anxiety, headaches, and muscle pain. Please please be careful taking this drug!!!

I like Klonopin cause it lasts longer then the previous anti anxiety drug I was on (Xanax). It takes awhile to kick in for me, but it lasts throughout the day. No drowsiness like some people, but I guess that's just me.

I suffer from chronic pain due to complications of Lupus, also suffer insomnia due to pain.I have multiple organ/site nerve damage, I take this drug along with antidepressant Cymbalta and also take Morphine twice daily, for everyone out there worried about "drug addiction" it is Not addiction but rather dependence. Many people do abuse rx's of this kind and develop a "mental dependency", but when you have chronic or acute conditions which is worse..suffering or getting help/relief? I was a nurse for 17 years and I know I'm NOT an addict but my meds help me function and live somewhat of a normal life. The "chemical withdrawl symptoms are usually gone within 72 hours the rest is only your mind craving it.Read More Read Less

I used to take ativan, but it didn't last long enough and then I would still feel anxiety all day. I also couldn't fall asleep due to anxiety. Klonopin has worked wonderfully for me. I take .5 in the am with Lexapro, then 1 mg at night before bed. No side effects except a bit of dry mouth at night. I am a much mellower human being, in a good way!

For years, I struggled with panic disorder. Clear back in the 70's, I had my first panic attack. THEN, no one believed in drug treatment for panic attacks. No one understood them. I struggled for almost 18 years with panic attacks and in all of this, it affected my marriage, which ended. I fist had Klonopin in the early 90's and my life has been different ever since. Had it not been for this drug, I truly believe I would have been housebound still today. I take 1 mg. 3 times a day and it's amazing what it's done for my life. I've traveled, flown on planes, done things with my kids, LIVED life. I use Klonopin with an antidepressant and my life is VERY good!Read More Read Less

Has become my band-aid, my safety net, and life feels like it started the day I started taking it. I'm on a 2mg daily which I take in the morning, little shaky at first (also on depakote) but after a few weeks I feel mellow, not sleepy. Hopes this helps for you.
