I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I was prescribed this medicine after I had 2 babies within 14 months apart...Ive been on it since 2007 and i have noticed that I have gained a massive amount of weight. The medicine helps me with my anxiety, but I was just wondering if many other women have had weight gain during the time of taking the medication.

I was prescribed a low dose for a sudden panic attack. However there is a high risk of dependence as well as withdrawl symptoms. Therapist and md say this drug is a quick fix. Therapy is the best treatment to see what is actually causing the panic attack. You should not expect to take this drug for the rest of yor life because your in fear of another attack. So far thearapy is helping me as well as a sleep aid for nights when I am really anxious.

I have had abdominal migraines caused by post-traumatic stress- which causes me to have panic attacks. I was literally on the edge of suicide because of the constant and uncontrollable pain this put me through. I was taking Valium before I got pregnant but after my son was born, it wasn't working the way it did before. After many ER visits, the doctor on staff that night recognized my problem and prescribed me Klonopin along with Amitriptilene- to take a night - and since then I have had no migraines and feel like a NORMAL person again. I feel so overwhelmingly grateful for this drug. When I first started taking it it made me a little tired during the day but it's been several months now and I feel great. I only take .5mg twice daily and it doesn't work acutely like Xanex, but I no longer need the acute drugs like I used to. The best part about Klonopin is that it isn't addictive like Xanex and I only have to take it twice a day to feel calm and about to focus on my son and our needs instead of having panic attacks all day long.Read More Read Less

In the begining, the side effects were not too bad. Then came all of the Foggy headedness, weight gain, disorientation, and the list goes on! Not just mild discomfort, really scarey side effects! 17 yaers later, I have Properly weened. However, the side effects or better WITHDRAWL are 100% Worse!! I was told when I started that Klonopin was NON Addictive!! The aftermath has caused so much Damage, I suggest asking for a different medication. Is that Possible? I absolutely believe there are other medcines that will be as effective yet less harmful!! Since I have my BSN in Science Nursing, I can say, I have done the research, and I am barely living through this. Therefore, my educated opinion is try anything else first!! Do Not keep this from your trusting readers, Please! This medicine is Very Dangerous! It is Not recommended, and Absolutely NO CHILDREN!Read More Read Less

I have had panic attacks for about 10 years now. For a long time, I would think I was going to die every single time I had one AND in between times having them all I could think about was having another one! Noone really understood or believed me-they said it was all in my head. Finally I found a Dr. who told me not to be embarrassed by this or try to figure it out. Some people just have this problem. I have tried about everything out there and I promise Klonopin is the best thing to keep your anxiety at bay. My dosage is 1mg 3 times a day. You have to take them, even if you don't feel nervous to make sure they stay in your system. I had to learn that from experience. These don't work as fast as xanax to "calm" you, but they last longer and if you take them correctly you will feel like a "normal" person again. I don't feel tired or groggy at all. As a matter of fact, I can't tell I'm on any medication I just don't feel nervous anymore-and isn't that the goal!! Good Luck and if your Dr. doesn't want you on these because they are "addictive" find another Dr. because you have to live your life!!Read More Read Less

I have tried various medictions since a traumatic incident in my teen years. Clonazepam has worked for me for over 2 decades despite the fact that supposedly it would stop working at the same doze I have not had this experience and it has improved my life and its quality immensely.

I really like the calming effect, but what I don't like it completely knocks you out, and the dry mouth, but the good outweighs the bad.

When I am very upset this helps me to cope, and calms me down to a level where I can think clearly again. Sometimes I get very nervous and I feel like my heart might just come out my chest this drug helps.

I am using this to get off 16 yrs of being on xanax. I was on very high dosage of xanax, as well as temazapam, and sometimes valium as well. All from one doctor. I have a severe anxiety disorder, and went cold turkey off xanax two weeks ago; thought I would die, though have done it many times before. I am now 58, and so weakened by the xanax, that I knew I had to quit. I have quit all, and my doctor put me on Kolonpin; 1 mg 3 times a day. I still suffer from severe withdrawal, ( I have epilepsy as well), and nervousness, but am fighting it. I go to 2 tablets of K tomorrow; One twice a day. I am scared of reducing dosage. There is not a rapid influx of this drug, as with xanax, and my body still craves that. I am able to eat, and sleep. I still have panic attacks. I wish you all luck. These are killer drugs; all! I was on this medicine years ago, and now I remember why I quit. I am extremely tired, and "zombie" like. The first day I was on it, I slept about 18 hours. I have also heard that you cannot stop taking Klonopin abruptly. You have to gradually step down.
