I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I have been on this drug for 4 months. I was put on it after having been given a steroid drug post partum to treat a rash. The steroid combined with my post partum state sent my adrenaline out of control and cause anxiety and insomnia. I am seeing one of the top psychiatrists in my city on the subject of anxiety/post partum. This drug has worked well and worked immediately. I mainly wanted to post this because it seems that there is some confusion on here about how to wean. My instructions were to wean myself (as long as I am not having any problems with sleep or anxiety) by a quarter of a tablet (.5mg tablet) not more frequently than every 3 weeks. That is a very SLOW taper. If anyone is on this, make sure you listen to your medical provider on the taper and I doubt you will experience these withdrawal symptoms that some have written. I was taking 3 tablets (1.5 mg) 4 months ago and am now down to 2.25 tablets. That is only dosing myself down by 3 quarters of a tablet in 4 months. This is how to be safe about it. Just be patient and try not to freak out that you are taking this medication. It is just for a season of life and it will end. Be patient. Read More Read Less

Three years ago I began having severe panic attacks that were totally affecting my ability to work. This medication was prescribed to me to be taken on an as needed basis along with Paxil which was to be taken daily. I continue to take both Klonopin and Pxil and it has been an absolute life saver! I have no negative side effects whatsoever. Am extremely happy with Klonopin and will continue to take it.

Started taking Klonopin for anxiety about employment and serious health and financial problems of my Mother. I have found this medication to make me less tense, easier to deal with, more able to complete tasks without starting something else and overall much happier.

I have been taking Klonopin for 5+ years for severe chronic back pain. I have found that it works very well for nervousness and provides significant improvement when taken with pain medications. I just changed doctors and klonopin is the only medication that that is currently prescribed that helps with the chronic SEVERE pain. Those of you who have been thare are ahead of tne next event - the new Doctor is very adamant that he is going to wean me from the in a six week peroid by first reducing the strength and finally eliminating all. I mean he is dammed hard nosed that it is harmful - Anybody know where I can get a doctor who has some common sense and does not have an employee whose job is to watch the door for the D.E.A. - Over done load of B.S.- I am at the point that I may say to hell with the doctors and all prescriptions including BP and prostate pills. But I do give this med 5 gold stars and would give it 10 if possible. Now if I sound like a hostile old man who lives with too much pain then youi understand wher I am coming from, Just take your Klopin while you have them a carry a ball bat to any doctor's appointment!!!!Read More Read Less

I've suffered from Panic attacks & anxiety for 20 years, went on xanax for 15. It was horrible! Xanax is called the clock watchers drug, The longer you take Xanax the shorter it works. I could not miss a dose without horrible anxiety-panic. My Dr. weened me and began Klonopin. What a difference (for me) I was taking 6 mg. of Xanax, I needed an increase frequently. The Klonopin works all day, I take 1 mg in the morning and one at bedtime. It does leave me a little tired in the morning, But I feel like I have my life back. All drugs of this nature are addictive. I just don't have that paniky feeling if I am running low or leave the house without it. For me..... It's been a miracle! But, we all react differently to any drugs....Read More Read Less

I was given 12 mg. klonopin for 9 years, prescribed by a physician. Withdrawal has been extremely difficult, DO NOT take this for any longer than necessary. Will take me a YEAR to get back to my old self again. Terrible pounding heart, insomnia, major weight loss. No good physicians to help me in our area. Stay away from this.
