I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...
Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I have been stuggling with postpartum depression/anxiety afer my son was born 6 months ago. My anxiety was so bad that i had a breakdown and had to be admited inpatient to a stress center. After a month of being on Xanax as needed and paxil I felt like I was getting worse. I was waking up with severe anxiety and that would turn into a tailspin of crying and extreme panic! Not fun. I finally found a medical professional who knows what she is doing. She is a physiciatric NP. She put me on Klonopin .5mg am/bedtime and she is weaing me off Paxil to the Zoloft. Let's just say I went from histeria on Tuesday morning to calmness upon waking this morning. I am sleeping well also. I expect to be on Klonopin until I am well on Zoloft and then taper off. If you take yourself off of Klonopin by yourself cold turkey of course your going to feeling it. Make sure you are with a physciatrist who knows meds and there side effects and how they will react with you personally. Good luck with everyone else out there, I know it stinks being on medicine but, at least we have these options.Read More Read Less

This is a very good medication for nervousness, anxiety and overall has a "calming effect" that works better than xanax or other drugs that I have tried. I have been on this for 12 years and it is a very good medication.

I am trying to find out why my current physician refuses to give me will only give me refill til the day I am out of medication and does not fill promptly or give me extra refills when moving to another state till I am able to meet with my pyschiatrist so I do not run out. This is the State of Wisconsin moving to the State of Illinois. I have never had this problem in the past with any other caregiver. Is there new laws that have been put into place in Wisconsin that I am unaware of

Klonopin is by far the best benzo for anxiety. I take 1 mg. twice daily. Once around 10 a.m. before morning classes and once at night around 8 p.m. to relax for the day. I function fine and do not feel like a zombie as others explained. I am able to run 9 miles a week and do 13 hour days of school combined with HW. You want to know how it feels to feel like a zombie than try an antipsychotic med. They will put you on your ... I am able to concentrate in college MBA feel normal and actually am the social me I remember as a kid. I love this med and think it is a miracle. One day I will go off, but for now with all the stress and anxiety from college again it def. helps. I also, take 20 mg. of Prozac and believe this to be the perfect coctail. And, believe me, I have tried every med and type from antidepressants to antipsychotics. This works best for me in my experience with meds for 10 years. Hope this helped.Read More Read Less

I started taking this medication along with ym symbyax ( 6/25mg ) . I was on the .5mg klono for about a month when my Dr. realized I still didn't leave my house for fear of crowds and people he upped my dosage to 1mg 1 1/2 3x's a day. Which was ALOT! I felt like a zombie. So I take 1 1/2 once a day only when I have to venture outside. If I'm going to work I'm ok it's just the rest of the outside world that scares me lol. But I can say when I do have to go out this med works well. I remain calm and don't rush to get out of the store to get back to my car aka safe zone. People being behind me in lines makes me want to harm people sad but true. The symbyax works good for that. ( the violent streaks I have on others ) So and all I recommend this med to anyone who has anxiety. If you don't feel like it's working on the first dose talk to your doctor.Read More Read Less

This is the first time in 23 years, I feel like myself. If you are truly suffering from panic disorder, I highly recommend this medication along with Zoloft (1 mg 2x day & 50 mg of Z work for me). For 18 years I relied on Ativan 1 mg 3x day but after experiencing extreme stress for 2 years now, it just stopped working. This combo makes me feel like I did before panic set in. I don't feel buzzed at all nor am I tired. I am also making myself exercise each day. But I can honestly say I wish I did this sooner.Read More Read Less

I started with 0.5 ml twice a day but I was still having anxiety attacks. So my doctor prescribed 1ml twice a day but my legs felt like they were made of lead and I felt like I might fall down. So I need to find an amount that will help and still allow me to function. I am also on my third week of taking zoloft for the first time. I am a 52 yr old woman in menopause. I never had anxiety attacks until two weeks ago. My mom and sisters have them.
