I had the most debilitating panic attacks! I started getting them at 23 yrs old. Beforehand, I didn't even know there was such a thing! I thought I was having a heart attack (other panic-disorder sufferers know what I mean!) So, for YEARS, I would have an attack w/out any outside trigger or reason. I stopped drinking coffee, alcohol, and even thought that I was causing them from eating high-fat fo...

Until June, I have been on 6mgs of this poison for seven years. In my opinion, it is given out to easily, prescribed at high doses for too long at a time, and is highly addictive if used for most two weeks. I've been going through withdrawal for weeks and it is only the beginning of what I will endure. Just watch the videos on Youtube or Google Klonopin Withdrawal and you will be horrified. I have...

I have taken half of a 1mg. Klonopin at bedtime for about five years. I was taking Xanax and it worked well, but a new Dr. felt Klonopin was better for me. Once in a great while I take 1mg. if I am really stressed. I can take two 1 mgs. per day, but never have had to. I do take a nap most days but I am getting older and don't know if the Klonopin is the cause or just my age. I have had two tiny anxiety episodes since then, managed by breathing exercises and singing to myself silently. I was in the night, my husband would have been startled to hear me burst into song out loud. My husband has been through several life threatening medical problems since I started Klonopin and it has never failed me. I have managed to be calm and to calm him and my family. I know it would not be easy to get off the drug even in the small dose I take, but I don't care. It works for me and that's all I care about. I am monitored by my Dr.Read More Read Less

I was put on this medication for anxiety.I have tried many a.d. and none of them worked out for me.I had almost given up on meds to help control my anxiety which leads to depression.Until my M.D. put on Klonpin 0.5mg 2x's a day as needed!! I love it!I don't even take the whole pill.I cut it in half and it works very well. Now I no longer worry about social events or anything for that matter as long as I got my Klonopin I'm good to go!! :)

I was prescribed this pill for anxiety due to previous deployment in Afghanistan. I take it only as needed which is everytime i go out on a mission. Sometimes i don't take it at all but when i have taken it, it helped tremendously. I don't have any side effects that i know of. I am on the .05 mg and I always need to take two. A real life saver here in my current deployed location.

My sister, who is in a nursing home, has been given this drug. The 1st night they gave it to her, she fell asleep in her wheelchair before getting undressed. She fell on the floor, unable to move until getting someone's attention at 1 AM. Now that I've read about this drug, I'm going to make sure she gets off it! They're trying to put her in a stupor, & she does have her right mind, at least for now. I wouldn't recommend this drug!!

Became dependent on this evil drug despite my limited usage of it. It's 30 to 40 hour half life means that even if you use it sparingly it still builds up in your system. I just loved the involuntary muscle spasms when I weaned myself off clonazepam. The insomnia and nightmares were also a real treat. I suspect my quitting the drug also induced glaucoma. Never freaking again.

Used for Fibromyalgia/Restless Leg syndrome & Anxiety. was prescribed: .5mg tablet, was told I could take half but cut the half into 1/4 tablet. First reaction was racing heart within 15 minutes of taking it, that lasted 30 minutes. 2nd reaction was really bad acid reflux-went away after taking Rolaids but came back when I woke up the next morning. 3rd reaction was a spaced out feeling mentally, groggy feeling that was still there when I woke up but went away after a total of 14 hours after taking it. Dr that prescribed it told me to stop taking it. I'm very sensitive to some medications and its hard to find something that will work for my bad leg pains. Be very cautious when taking this drug, I was glad I split into 1/4 of a pill.Read More Read Less

I went from Lorazepam to Xanax (0.25 mg. 3x) thinking it would be easier to taper off of. Boy, was I ever wrong. Xanax is very tough to stop, even when highly motivated. My doc is starting me on Klonopin wafers 0.125 mg 3x. I start tomorrow. I am hoping that I can be clean off this drug in 4-5 months. For folks who need it fine, but if you can relax another way please stay awy from this very addictive drug. It is far too easy to get and darn tough to stop. I am also going to try GABA (gamma amino benzoic acid) and 5-HTP at night to help. Any Benzo is very addictive and potentially dangerous, seizures and feeling horrific, plus you might end up in an E.R. Use extreme caution. Frankly I do not know why people like Xanax so much, it does little for me except keep me addicted. I'll keep you posted as to how the Klonopin wafers work. I will win this battle, period! Fight on, fight hard, be smart, patient and tenacious, you will win too!! Read More Read Less

I started taking Klonopin for anxiety. I had previously been taking Ambien to help me sleep, but as time went by I found myself taking a half an ambien through out the day to ease my anxiety. It seemed the more ambien I took, the more I needed. This had to stop for many reasons and I tried several other sleeping aids in it's place. Nothing worked like ambien and that's when I realized that maybe I don't have a sleeping disorder but suffer from chronic anxiety. Not panic attacks, just anxiety. Anxiety was keeping me awake, not letting me relax and it was general anxiety not related to phobias or circumstance. Anxiety was always just there, mentally paralyzing sometimes (I'd set on the couch for hours worrying and feeling I couldn't move from the spot I sat in) I made bad decisions, and I was in general angry most of the time. The side effects I experienced from taking Klonopin were sometimes humorous. My friends while speaking to me on the phone told me I sounded drunk. My speech was slower. (I got hassled my entire life for talking to fast) They said I wasn't slurring, just talking slower. A couple of other friends claimed my personality was different and they missed the frazzled, high energy, always spoke my mind if appropriate or not. Changes I have experienced with Klonopin I am thrilled about are: I have more patients in general, I feel relaxed, I have control in focusing on what I need to get done from bill paying to washing the dishes. With Adderal alone I focused on anything in front of me, avoided anything I disliked doing and was often late for work etc.. Taking Klonopin with Aderall has changed my day to day life in the way I want it.... I'm positive and I'm confident there is a solution for most problems. I've never felt that way before. I used to feel trapped when problems came up. Side effects I do not like is my equal Librium is off. Walking in a straight line is dificult sometimes and I am bumbing into people and things from lack of awareness.Read More Read Less

I take 0.5 mg of Klonopins twice a day. Sometimes just in the morning. Unless I feel I need it at night too. I found that as long as I drink caffeine with it I don't get drowsy or tired. Without caffeine tho I sometimes just want to sleep all day. So as long as I drink caffeine I function just fine. It absolutely helps my anxiety! I can be in a crowd of people without feeling freaked out. I can be in tense situations without feeling panicky. I feel happy because I can finally relax, and interact socially like I was not able to before. I would recommend Klonopins! Read More Read Less

Works well for anxiety attacks. It lasts longer than Xanax without the "ups and downs". It gives a more even level of calm- or as calm as I ever get, anyway. :) I have taken it for years, and can quit without problems, but within a week or two I MUST get back on it because I cannot function without it. It truly gave me my life back.
