I just started Cymbalta yesterday for the second time. Only reason I stopped taking it (about two years ago) was because of the cost but now it comes in generic. When I took it the first time I had a GREAT experience with it. Nothing works better for me than Cymbalta so when I heard it came out in generic form I was so happy and couldn't wait to get back on it. I have been dealing with depression/...

Unfortunately most medications are designed to make you take more medications. Remember a sick society is profitable to Insurance, Medical and Pharmaceutical Industry. If they were to cure you the world would over populate and a very large sector of the financial markets would collapse and destroy the world economy. An economic system based in Hegelian Dialect simply no longer works anymore. But l...

My anxiety has significantly lessened and my moods are more even keel. I do experience many episodes of insomnia but the benefits I have experiences outweigh the insomnia.

Hasn't seemed to help...almost feel worse. Side effects: insomnia, night sweats, increased sweating, weird dreams.

By being placed on Cymbalta, I have felt incredibly different. For a time, I had a hard time even getting out of bed and cried every day--especially at night. It's been about 5 weeks since starting the medication and I feel great and want to be with people in public places now. As before, I didn't want to speak to anyone--not even my family. So, I have a smile on my face now. I have to admit, I noticed the problem when I was crying for no reason and becoming angry a while back. So, I went to my family physician and he recommended the drug---much thanks to him and even myself for even taking a step into the doctor's office in the first place. Who knows where I would be. Thank you Cymbalta! I am even more focused and happier at work. Everyone around me has noticed the change in me in a positive way.Read More Read Less

I was recently placed on Cymbalta to treat my symptoms of pain and fatigue related to Severe Fibromyalgia Syndrom. I experienced Extreme side effects first three days as well as first 3 days of increasing dosage. Experience Several sidethat can be bothersome, like increased sweating ( I never use to sweat-even for the 15 years i lived in Arizona) dry mouth, difficutlty urinating, increased heart beat, drop in blood pressure upon standing, However my flares do not last as long and after living with daily pain and exxhaustion since 1985,(Diagnosed 2007) It has changed the quality of my life. I would encourge the FDA to approve for the treatment of Fibromyalgia to help other suffers like myself win back a better quality of life. Read More Read Less

Used for several years. Have been out for about one week and feel very light headed, dizzy when standing. Is this normal when not taking on a regular basis?

I was given this medicine to help my sleep/pain issues - along with other medications. The manufacturer needs to make physicians more aware of the side affects of the medication. This site just described symptoms I've been experiencing. They are listed as severe. My Rhuematologist swears my meds having nothing to do with my water retention, vision problems or dizziness. I am beginning to wonder based on the information provided here, whether or not leaving Cymbalta is the answer to getting my eyesite back. But, Lyrica sounds as bad as Tramadol. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't. LOLRead More Read Less

I have chronic back pain and my doctor mentioned that Cymbalta has had some good effects on patients with chronic pain and depression. Is this true?

I have tried several different medications, Prozac, Lexapro, Zoloft, & Wellbutrin. For the drugs that did work, their success did not last for more than 9 months. With Cymbalta, I have been able to remain on it for over a year without it 'no longer working'. If you are just beginning ANY depression medication make sure to tell your doctor if you still don't feel better. It may not be the right medication for you. I know! I've been through several!

I was started on this drug in January 2006 for treatment of major depressive disorder and chronic pain. I found it very effective for over a year, but in the past few months I seem to be having a relapse of symptoms, not sure if my dose needs to be increased or I have "peaked" on this treatment..

I feel that Cymbalta may help somewhat for depression. Since I also take Lyrica it is difficult to know which drug/drugs helps chronic pain and anxiety.
