I only experienced a slight reaction the first week -a high pulse rate of 110 which lasted a week, and some stomach sensitivities, such as reflux. Once when my system got used to this medication all was alright and I was quite pleased. I could even drive and did not loose my energy! I took it for 4 months and now am into my 5th month. Combining it with Bactrim is not a good idea. I am having a har...

I HAD A STAPH INFECTION, AND THE FIRST DOSE DID NOT KILL THE BACTERIA THAT CAUSED IT SO I WAS PERSCRIBED IT AGAIN AND ANOTHER ANTIBIOTIC. I DID HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY LIPS PEELING AND BEING VERY RAW WHILE ON THIS MEDICATION.

Was taking this for NSU/NGU which had infected my prostate. Was on Cipro first few weeks but Cipro made me quite nauseous after a while. Doxy was much easier to take but I don't feel my condition has been completely cured, & I just finished the course. I may have something viral lingering but I did feel benefit from the Doxy and will be willing to take again, if needed.

I actually suffer chronic bronchitis and as far as I am concerned this drug will only make the bacteria go dorment. It wasn't even a month and I had to go back for something stronger. It just hid the symptoms plus my doctor had me on a cortizone at the same time.

Unfortunately I could not complete a full course of this medication as the side effects were very strong. The headache was the worst and it really upset my stomach.
