I've had severe chronic pain from arthritis and compressed nerve at L6/S1 for almost 2 decades. I've tried so many treatments and meds--and the only two to give me any relief are, Opana (now yanked in ER form :( )...and Hydromorphone. I take 4mg tid, because of the hypercautious approach my doctor takes per necessity...when I really need about every 3-4 hrs. PLEASE people who do it--QUIT ABUSING T...

Tore a tendon in my ankle, awaiting surgery. The pain is excruciating; oxycodone immediate release or hydrocodone/acetaminophen (Vicodin) are not great, but they actually relieve some pain. I'm on 4 mg every 4-6 hours of hydromorphone (Dilaudid) and I feel absolutely no pain relief what-so-ever and I am afraid to have my doc increase the dose because I'm paranoid about the possibility to stop brea...

I take this Med along with Actiqs,(not together,WILL cause central nervous overload). It helps quite well for my back pain that I suffer from due to past surgeries from having cancer. People need to understand that you are looking for the effectiveness of the PAIN KILLER, not the body buzz! Although Dilaudid HELPS, it in no way makes the pain go away, that is why I have the fetanyl as well.

Use to treat pain associated with polycystic kidney disease. Worked well for about a month then eased off with further use.

The first time I used this drug, it was after my c-section with my first baby. It worked then, but only about half of the time. Now I am trying it for my back pain and it is working even less than before. However, I do know that I have a very high tolerance to pain meds so it may help someone else with a lower tolerance. When I could get the medicine to work, it was a very good drug.

I had a flare-up of "acute calcific tendinitis". As I'm a chronic pain patient, I take OxyContin 80 mg tablets 3 times a day along with OxyFast liquid oral concentrate 3 times per day. However, this medication would not control the pain I was experiencing from the aforementioned condition. Thus, I had to go to the Emergency Room where I was injected with Dilaudid. Within 30 minutes the pain was under control. My doctor has given me 5 Dilaudid No. 8 tablets to keep by my bedside for the next flare-up, which my rheumatologist tells me will occur sooner or later.Read More Read Less
