I had a bad case of bronchitis and was on antibiotics and steriod inhalers. I got a bad case of thrush all over my tongue, mouth, throat and it was on my vocal cords...the ENT gave me DIFULUCAN for 5 days and 14 days of the Nistatin. It cleared it up. ALSO a really good tip that my old ENT gave me as I had this once before from a steroid inhaler...HE TOLD me to mix 50/50 of the mouthwash CEPACO...
This medicine made my daughter's stomach hurt really bad and the taste and texture was horrible. She got it from dental work, or birth control pills. Taking other med with it and she had to stop and now it seems it is spreading even more. There has to be some kind of other solution to this horrible smelling, and tasting medicine. It may work for some but not for her! Gross!

I had treatment for lymphoma and developed thrush as a side affect of the treatment used. The thrush was very annoying and painful and the nystatin cleared it up quickly

My doctor has tried other medications for the thrush I get from taking steroids, but nothing works as quickly or effectively as nystatin oral. The taste isn't so bad that I can't deal with it.

I have been sick on and off since December when I got my new job. Actually, my whole life I have never really felt well. I have aways been plagued by fatigue, migraines, intense pain during ovulation, bad acne (cleared upo now), urinary tract infections, recurrant yeast infections. BUT NOT ANY MORE...AS OF TODAY I began taking this Nystatin Oral and I feel great. I am awake, alert, my mouth is at least 85% cleared up. I mean I am a Chemist and I just love my doctor. He is the best and I am very critical when it comes to doctors. He knows his stuff and this medication is the BOMB really works and tastes great. Finally, a doctor who has pinpointed what the problem is cadida and thrush. Now I can be fixed for good. Will take a few changes in diet and adjustments in pH. I can do all that. This medication gave me instantaneous relief and it has been very benefical for me.Read More Read Less

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease (an inflammatory condition of the intestine) over 30 years ago. Within the last two years I developed vaginal itching and lesions in moist areas of my body. About 5 months ago I was prescribed Nystatin. All of my symptoms eventually disappeared, including the Crohn's symptoms--for the first time I can remember! The only problem is that since I quit taking it a month ago some of the symptoms have returned mildly, even though I continue on a very strict anti-candida diet. It could be that I have had the infection so long that it will take a very long time to completely get rid of it? Also, I had die-off symptoms when I first started taking it, but by drinking plenty of water they went away in a couple of days. Read More Read Less

Diagnosed with oral Thrush 4 weeks ago. Was given Clotrimazole Troche, but experienced side effects so switched to Nystatin. Taken around the clock per recommended dosage, for 4 days, but still dealing with burning tongue & dry mouth. Just wonder how long this Thrush is going to last. So hard to eat & swallow. May try Probiotic Acidphillus as others have recommended. Hoping my condition will clear up soon! This is the worst!

The is an oral version that tastes great. For those who think it tastes bad. The oral version I take tastes great. In my research I found there is a flavored version for children, I must be getting it. I have had a toxingenic fungal infection for 11 years that has been debilitating. This is the only treatment I have success with. I use it in the nasal rinse also. The doctor hesitated to prescribe it because it was for candida, yeast, not fungus. He is simply wrong. Candida albicans is a diploid fungus that grows both as yeast and filamentous cells and nystatin works on most fungus. It is used by pathologists to keep their instruments free of fungus. Mos doctors know little about fungi and do not know how to treat them. This has been a life saver for me. Read More Read Less

Nausea, fatigue, muscle weakness. Feels like low grade flu. Will stop for a few days and try again at one dose per day. If no side effects, will increase dose to twice per day and so on.

using this medicine for my newborn son. we are now on round three of this same medicine and the thrush is still not clearing up. Plus, he has suffered tremendous stomach problems that I'm sure are due in part to taking this medication. Wish there was a better treatment for infants!
