I have suffered from hyperhydrosis since the age of 10. Cold and clammy hands, feed and groin area. Hated it. I'm a athlete and it became embarrassing as I grew older. Avoiding contact, not being able to play instruments, hold hands with women, and much more.. Back then, there wasn't enough research on glycopyrrolate, so dermatologists did not recommend it. Currently I am a 26 years old male, so I ...

I take glycopyrrolate 1mg tablets twice a day: 2 in the am and 1 in the afternoon. The dosage was reduced because of side effects. (drowsiness, excessive dry mouth[bad breath], constipation, confusion, dizziness & moodiness) Additionally I apply hyper-care to my underarms at night. It is beneficial for hyperhydrosis of the auxiliary glands, however the side effects I am experiencing out weigh the benefits. I thought I had found the perfect solution for my embarrassing underarm sweating. I didn't realize my moodiness until family members and others constantly began questioning why I seemed so grumpy and impatient. I have always been the happy-go lucky, full of energy person who never stops. I am also exhausted by 5 or 6pm. I plan to discuss botox with my dermatologist at my next visit. If botox isn't an option I may have to go back to wearing panty liners in my shirts and changing tops several times a day. Read More Read Less

I have been taking this med for 1 yr. to help manage excessive sweating created from mental health meds... Termed as-drug induced sweating. Well it helps but I am now at the highest dose and struggling badly with it's side effects of blurred vision and terrible constipation. I never had vision problems and had excellent vision. I now have noticed that I cannot read nearly any material, book, label etc...without glasses-which I never needed. The constipation is so bad despite a diet high in foods to promote daily regularity. I have to use suppositories and stool softeners. Yes I have tried all the other mental health meds and gone off and did a holistic approach. Well that was not good as the anxiety came back and all the meds create this sweating and awful weight gain. This sweating is on my head, face, and groin area. I know there are many prescription items for sweating as I have tried them but the effectie ones are far too harsh for the areas I need them for. I have tried them. Will my vision be permanently influenced??? My therapist struggles with helping me as she only has two patients who have this sweating problem Read More Read Less

I have started taking this medication one and 1/2 weeks ago. I know it normally takes medications up to 2 weeks or more to start working? Has anyone had experience on how long I should wait before I know it's working or not? Also, has anyone been on a dose as low as 1 pill/daily? I have excessive head sweating and the dermatologist indicated to take only 1 pill daily and if the need occurs, to increase it from there. Thoughts?

I have been taking this medication for about 2 years now for my palmer hyperhidrosis (which i have had since infancy), and I am generally satisfied with the results. However, I am starting to notice my body is starting to build a tolerance to my 2-mg pills. I may have to get the surgery after all.

My son who has Hyperhydrosis is 15. He has been taking Glycopyralate for 2+ years. A dermatologist IS the best doctor to consult. Our pediatrician was unable to recommend a treatment and suggested the dermatologist. He takes 1 at bedtime and takes two in the morning. This 3 pill dosage(each 2mg) get him through the day. I have worried about side effects and any long term issues, especially with his age. In all the research I have read, I think this prescription is the best fix, outside of a surgical procedure in which we aren't going to pursue. I would highly recommend. I think the dryness your body experiences is better than the sweating. His hands do tend to obviously become dry and using a good lotion (non greasy) helps. I have a happy kid when his hands aren't dripping with sweat. Best of luck. Read More Read Less

It is good to hear i am not the only person with excessive sweating issues and that this drug has helped them as it has helped me. i take 3-2mg tabs/per day to "dry me up". excessive sweating seems to be a family trait and it is very good to find relief in a drug without side effects.

Using this drug for hyperhydrosis for a little over a year now. The drug does work wonders for my hands and armpits, yet still does very little for my feet. Though I must say i get VERY Drowsy later in the day, and my contempt for this drug is starting do grow and find me looking for alternatives. Very effective, but grow WAY to tried later in the day. Anyone else experience this?

I have had profuse head sweating for years. Most doctors told me there was nothing that could be done for it. But somewhere I read that you need to go to a dermatologist and he will know what to do. I have been taking this med for 2 months now and am more than excited. I feel like a new person. A real person who can shop and exercise without everyone staring at me. The only side effects I have had are dry throat and a little bloating. I would like to shout from the roof tops how helpful this drug has been to me. It is an answer to my prayers.Read More Read Less

I take this medication for major overactive sweat gland issues. I used to go thru three shirts a day, my hands would slip out of my husbands hands because they were so sweaty. I take 2mg pills three times a day. I also get botox shots in my armpits-one shot every 2mm away from eachother which hurts a lot but helps with the armpit sweating. The glycopyrrolate helps with the rest of my body sweating but leaves my mouth incredibly dry. I feel like I have cotton in my mouth about ten minutes after taking the medication. It says on here it also is given to people for stomach or intestinal problems and pain and i have severe crohns disease and do not think that glycopyrrolate has helped with pain, ulcers, diarrhea, etc. Read More Read Less

Worked somewhat, not great, but took several weeks to "kick in" and then dried my eyes so much I had to discontinue its use.

I am a 37 yr old female and I take this medication for excessive sweating and I love it. I was prescribed 1mg twice daily and experienced headaches in the evening so I just cut it back to one pill in the morning and have had no problems.

I've been taking this medication since 9/09 for Hyperhydrosis or excessive sweating. I only take 2MG one 1MG pill in the AM then another around lunch. I'm also a type 2 diabetic. This medication affects the absorbion of other medications so I take my diabeties medication early, then wait 2 hours and take this medication. The problem that I found with this is that my day starts very early and I find that I start sweating before I can get the medication in my system early enough to control my problem. I have had no side effects so far. I was advised my Dr. that this medication could possibly cause weight gain since your metabolizm also slow. He recommended plenty of exercise and a well balanced diet. If you are considering this medication start off with the lowest dose possible.Read More Read Less

I was given this for recently discovering in a colonoscopy that I had severe colitis and now IBS. Two weeks later after taking this rx 3 times a day, my left side of my body went numb and my heart was irratically beating. Luckily, my husband is a Doctor or I may not have been here. I saw a cardiologist yesterday who said this could take a couple weeks to get out of my system. I am on a beta blocker to keep my pressure down until it gets out of my system.
