6 years ago, I was having about 1 gout attack a month in my feet and ankles, which would last for up to 2 weeks. The attacks were so bad I would end up on the floor in tears. I've broken many bones and had sprains due to my athletic lifestyle. The gout pain is/was by far was the most painful of anything I've experienced. I started on 100 mg of Allopurinol for 2 months, but the attacks still came. ...

I HAVE BEEN TAKING ALLOPURINAL 300 MG FOR 5 MONTHS. OVERALL IT HAS BEEN EFFECTIVE AS MY LAST BLOOD TEST ONE MONTH AGO SHOWED THAT MY URIC ACID LEVEL FROM 11 CAME DOWN TO 6.4 BUT IN THE LAST 3 DAYS I HAVE BEEN HAVIN SEVER PAIN IN MY BIG TOE.I HVE NOT STOPPED TAKING ALLOPURINOL AND ADDED INDOMETHACIN TO REDUCE PAIN. MY DIET HAS NOT CHANGED VERY MUCH. I STAY AWAY FROM FOODS CAUSING GOUT. I AM WONDERING WHAT IS SUDDENLLY WRONG WITH ME?
