I took this one time following 3 weeks of treatment with Alendronate Sodium 70mg. I was supposed to wait one month before starting this medicine. However, I did not hear that message on my phone in a timely fashion. On the evening of the night I took the pill, I experienced a lot of lower back stiffness and right hip aches. The R hip was aching so bad that I found it difficult to sit in the bathroom that night! On the second day, I started having what has felt like neck muscle aches. I also experienced itching across my lower bra line. By the 3rd day, I had shoulder muscles that were aching. On the 4th day, my right hip was aching in the bathroom and on bending to tie my shoes. I had bones that were aching in my feet as well as wrist and ankles aches along with finger joint aches. My right wrist was aching and hurting. On the 7th day, both hips ached and I had lower back stiffness. I am experiencing upper muscle aches in both arms. I have not been able to walk on a daily basis since taking this medicine. I have at times felt like a woman 10 years older. I will not be taking any more of Risedronate Sodium. I do not recommend it. Read More Read Less

Very painfully side effects. Ended up in the Hospital ER. They could do nothing but tell me it would take 7-10 business days to get through my system. Would not recommend this drug for treatment. Now I have to meet with a specialist to further figure out what to do next.

I discontinued it as it caused stomach ulcers, even tho I followed all the directions. Because of bleeding, it also lowered my red blood count.
