Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I feel great hard to think this is legal drug.Used to be on 150 mg then 300 and now 450 and I feel wonderful. Have some shaking in the hands and seems like I have less hair on my head now. I have always had male pattern balding going on but it seems worse. Anybody else with that??

I was on this medication for about 2 months. It was the worst experience of my life. It made me more depressed. I felt like I wanted to crawl out of my own skin. It made me moodier, sadder, and crazy. Do not recommend.

I have taken welbutrin xl for several years. I have tried to come off several times (because i don't like taking medicine) but after a few weeks I was back in a bad depression. My insurance increses the co payment if you do not use the generic so I tried it last month. DID NOT WORK!! I am back on the original and feeling great

Since starting this medication, I have had a severe headache, blurred vision, weight gain and no positive effects, not sure what to try next, cymbalta made me suicidal, prozac worked for about 3 months then stopped, and effexor bearly helps.

After about 3-4 months of taking this drug I started having a rash on my face and neck area (not in the "T Zone". I took 2 antibiotics for it and it helped some, but has never went away. I normally do not have acne at all. These pimple look alikes do not turn into white heads, are not pussy, itchy or painful. They also do not dry up and go away, the very same red pimple like bumps in the exact same places. Has anyone out there ever had a reaction/side affect like this from taking Wellbutrin? Please Help! I cannot find any other reviews that have mentioned this. My Dr. also stated that it could be related to taking Wellbutrin as well as taking a birth control pill at the same time. I need answers! I don't want to have scars!Read More Read Less

I have always disliked winter and got very depressed, but last winter was much better while on Wellbutrin. I also quit smoking while on this, but I was not a very heavy smoker either (social mostly).

I started taking Wellbutrin + low dose of Zoloft as Paxil didnt seem to be working for me as well anymore. Since taking Wellbutrin I am constantly very angry, I react very harshly to things, I feel hateful, I cry at anything and I am lashing out at the ones that love me the most. I have a constant knot in the pit of my stomach that seems to get worse the later in the day it gets. I can't do this anymore. My daughter and I have always had a great relationship but now it seems as if she is hesitant about talking to me about anything because she is unsure how I will react. I have absolutely no interest in anything intimately, in fact the thought of it makes me cringe. I will be calling my doctor in the morning and requesting something different. I can't put my family through this anymore. There has got to be something out there that will work for me and my symptoms.Read More Read Less

I am thrilled. I've been on it for a year now. 300 mg. a day. I asked the doc for it to quit smoking . That was no problem at all, even after smoking for 33 years!! It did however make coffee taste bad so I quit that too. I used to be quite moody, but I am much nicer to be around now. Just ask my family. My son,21, however tried it and he said that it made him feel almost suicidal.

I didn't realize I had depression/anxiety until my doctor started me on Wellbutrin. I felt better almost immediately. I've only been on it for a little over a week, but already sleeping better. Had chronic insomnia and first night I slept 7 hours straight. I don't feel any side effects, just alot calmer and looking forward to doing more social activities. I am only on 150mg, hope I don't need to take more, so far I am very happy.

I have only been on this a few days. I was on Lexapro which had no effect on my mood and I had all of the common side effects and many of the rare ones. I cannot sleep tonight because I am having extreme chest pain and a racing heart beat. Going to call my doctor in the morning. I have not had relief from depression yet (been sad for 8 months) and it is frustrating to have nothing work. It is making me feel even more hopeless and frustrated.

This drug really should be combined with an SSRI to be the most effective. It effects dopamine and nuropenephrin (sp?), but doesn't really effect serotonin. I tried taking Wellbutrin XL by itself and Lexapro by itself...with the former, i had similar anxiety issues that others have mentioned, and I didn't feel that Lexapro did too much for me...plus it made it really hard to orgasm. i've been on 300 xl and 10 mg for about 2 years now, and it's been a great combo for me.

I suffer from depression and need to have my meds changed each year. I just went off Effexor. The Dr. put me on Wellbutin XL 150 MG. So far, I do not think it is working. Usually when I change meds, it is an easy transition. I have been taking it for only a week, but I am more angry. I have been lashing out at my 8 and 4 year old. Extreme anger. I also have had diarrea. I also will think that I see things out of the corner of my eyes that aren't there. I now can cry at the drop of a hat. I do take a generic form of Wellbutrin. I have been sleeping great! Other pills that I have taken usually keep you awake a night. Who knows maybe I have not taken it long enough. I called my Dr today and he wants me to wait another week. He feels it is not in my system yet. So far, nothing has changed except for the anger. We will wait and see! Read More Read Less
