Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I am a person who has been on and of fdepression medication fro about three years. I have been prescribed different medications due to insurance. When Wellbutrin went generic I was prescribed it again. It took about four weeks before I seemed to notice a difference. I am not as hungry, and I am having a easier time with my emotionsbut I think the dose needs to be higher. I have not had any of the listed side effects.

I posted a review about six weeks ago after I first began taking Wellbutrin. I took the generic for two weeks then switched to 150mg brand. After taking this for a month, I feel great. The depressed, gray feeling is completely gone, and I have more energy. I haven't noticed any side effects, but I did lose about five pounds (which I wanted to do anyway). I eat less now but feel much healthier. Overall I am extremely satisfied with this drug.

I was taking this medicine with Zoloft for Major Depression for about 3 years. It worked great with the Zoloft, it gave me that extra boost I needed to help me back to being myself again. I could no longer afford the medications when i left the military so i decided to stop them cold turkey and did not have any side effects like i did when trying to be weaned off just the zoloft. I think this is a great medication and can help when taken with other medications when you dont want to up the doses anymore, this can give you a different mix to help. It's worth a shotRead More Read Less

I began taking this for major depression before it was found to help with smoking at 400 mg. daily I found myself smoking less and going 2 to 4 hours w/out one and finally figured it was from this med.. It does curb that urge. Just don't think so much about it and maybe you'll find what I did..

I was diagnosed a few years ago with bipolar depression after a suicide attempt. I was on a few others that did nothing for me. I now take wellbutrin xl 300mg. I was told to take it in the morning because it might keep me up, but I take it at night with my other meds. I take seroquel 400mg, so that knocks me out. I used to have nightmares, but ever since I was put on the generic, not so much. I still wake up scared sometimes. I dont know if its just me but I feel that the generic is not as effective. I dont have any side effects really unless the dreams count. It works wonderful for me. I love it. Keeps me more stable and in a better mood.Read More Read Less

Prior to this medication (I take the generic, Bupropion XL), I had tried a couple of different medications. None of them worked well. Then, my doctor prescribed this. After about three weeks, I noticed that I would wake up without the customary depression that had been afflicting me for over a year and a half. Mind you, the depression has not gone away, but it has lessened greatly. The medication also sped up my metabolism and I lost weight. Nice. I also have more energy and my mind is not as lethargic as before. I take the medication with Lamictyl for anxiety and mood swings. Bupropion's side effects are occasional hyperactivity, occasional stomachaches and frequent visits to the number for number 2, which may be caused by my sped up metabolism. Furthermore, my libido has increased and my performance in that department has improved. I am fortunate to be taking these medication and hope the benefits to not subside with time. Again, I emphasize that the depression has not ceased completely, but it has lessened in frequency and intensity. Read More Read Less

It works very well. I had tons of energy but after being on it for only a week I started shaking terribly and thought I was going to have a seizure. I have no history of seizure, and neither does anyone in my family. Since I've stopped taking it, I haven't felt that way again.

I started on Wellbutrin 150XL to treat my eating binges & mild depression. Seemed to curb my junk food cravings along with my depression. It gives me energy...I only need 6 hours of sleep a night. After 2 years, I tried to increase to the 300XL but it was like being on speed & I could not sleep at all. I did not gain weight and it seems to have increased my libido.

The drug really did help me quit smoking, but for the first week on it I was the meanest person on the planet! The irritability went away during the second week of treatment. Overall I found this medication more effective than Chantix which I tried twice before to no avail. The mood swings during week one are my only complaint.

After taking Chantix to quit smoking I suffered a severe depression. Torture is the best way to discribe it. I tried Effexor, Lexapro & Prozac. I experienced absolutly no relief from any of these. Then I tried Wellbutrin. I thank God for the relief I felt within the first week. I am taking 150 mg once a day & feel that this is a little on the low side as far as dosage. I have no side effects. I would recomend this medication but not in generic form. The generic affected me in a bad way with many side effects. If your depression is brought on by Chantix try Wellbutrin. I hope this helps.Read More Read Less

Only on meds for 1 week and 3 days. I noticed the first day improvment in disposition and energy. AFter first week went up on dosage immidately I started to get foggy in my thinking felt like I was outside myself. I scared my husband he said I just wasn't acting right.. Also it made me feel like I was numb to feelings which bothered me since I just lost my father due to very bad circumstances. Did help me not smoke as much and I lost 10 lbs first week. Dr is moving me to Lexapro because of the side-effects I hope it works with less side effects!Read More Read Less

This was my first med for depression I was prescribed. I also took lunesta to handle a sleep disorder (waking up like clockwork 3 hours into my sleep). I needed something to schock my out of my usual habits of depressiveness, and it did shock me, but made me different, but not much better. Made me much more volatile, although happier in general. When I would have a low, although less often, they would feel like life or death lows. And my tension increased. But it did change things, atleast, just not for much better. But different, but still bad, is better than same and still bad. It was easy to use. Only thing is trying to take it regularly and trying not to get drunk while taking it. I'm pretty neutral about satisfaction. I believe it may work for some, but it increased my volatility, although it did do *something*, atleast. Now I am on lexapro. Just started it.Read More Read Less
