Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...
My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I was on 150 mg of wellbutrin for depression. The drug worked well for anxiety and depression but strange side effects: very angry; upset stomach; and maybe a good one: didn't want to drink alcohol, coffee, didn't want to smoke. I stopped because side effects were too great.

I have taken Wellbutrin for depression since 1991 in combination with Clonazepam. I had extreme weight loss but eventually the weight came back after a couple of years on a decreased maintenance dose. It has been very effective in helping me through menopause. I can taper off during non-stressful and non-hormonal times.

I don't think this med helped my depression at all. One of my doctors think it may aggravate my irritability. Exactly what I don't need. This is a med to skip. Its worthless to quit smoking, and useless for depression, in my experience. No side effects besides possibly contributing to my irritability, but no proof that the wellbutrin has anything to do with it. I wouldn't bother trying this drug.

Didn't make the slightest bit of difference. I used it for depression, as well, with the same results. In fact, I think it made me crankier!!

Been suffering from SAD seasonally since 1996 - Wellbutrin XL decreases my sleep - I have been sleeping 2-3 hours a night which is unacceptable given that I am a 6-8 hour a night girl.

I have been using Wellbutrin for a number of years now with great success, along with talk therapy. I use this medication in combination with Zoloft. For many years, I had been taking a very small dosage with an "ok" effect. I switched psychiatrists and we increased the dosage. Since then, I have had very wonderful success with using Wellbutrin. I would definitely recommend this medication, but you have to be the one to decide if it is working for you or not. Be proactive in your treatment! After all, it is your life!!Read More Read Less

I've been taking this medication for several years and recently doc upped my dosage. It has worked well but I'm losing my hair. Could this be the med that is causing it and will my hair grow back if I quit using it.

I have really liked the changes I have felt while on Wellbutrin XL (150ml) however, after taking it for 3-4 months I have had considerable hair loss. I am sad to say that I think I am going to have to go off of Wellbutrin. Has anyone else experienced hair loss and did it ever stop?

I started this medication to quit smoking over two years ago. I did quit smoking as it made me sick when I did smoke. I started back smoking after a year on the medication when I was having relationship issues. I just keep taking the medication for depression. My moods seem to be leveled out now so there is no reason for me to quit taking it. I also take Zoloft and I have found that taking Wellbutrin in the morning and Zoloft at night has really helped me. I feel great now.

These meds did help my depression but after a year and a half of Erectile dysfunction,I found myself more depressed because I could not maintain a woody. The harder I would try the more my erection shyed away. Two weeks after quitting the meds, ole' glory is standing strong and proud again! So don't be fooled by the line it does not cause E.D., but it does help the blues.

Worked Great, but gave me an ulcer. Stoped use. A long time later I tried the med again and I just couldn't handle it. No other side effects but the stomache pain was unreal.
