Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I used Welbutrin SR to quit smoking in December of 1999 and have not had a cigarette since. I quit smoking after taking Welbutrin for 1 week, continued taking it for the rest of the month and suffered no noticible withdrawal.

I was originally prescribed paxil in March 2008, I was this about 7 months, and hile it worked wll to help me with my issues, the weight gain, and tiredness, unreal. I then tried prozac, it did not seem to work as effective as the paxil, and still put weight on me(also increased appetite like paxil) At this point I took matters into my hands, began researching and decided I liked what I read about wellbutin, I have been on it about 3 months now and its the best yet, without the unwanted side effects.Read More Read Less

I take this along with celexa. I was not having good luck with welbutrin alone. I would love to get off welbutrin, I tried once and it was not a pretty picture. Have not had bad side effects, just doesnt seem to do much good.

I was taking Effexor for a little over two years but then felt like it wasn't working anymore so my DR. lowered my dosage of that and started me on Wellbutrin. It has been a week and a half and I have never felt more miserable in my life. I am more depressed then I have been, no energy and so dizzy it makes everything difficult. I don't know whether I should stick with it, or stop. My Dr. is aware but I don't feel that she understands what I am going thru. If you have had similar experiences, I would love to hear about it. I know that every medication effects everyone different but my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin for my panic attacks. I had a terrible reation to it. I felt completely depressed(which I am pretty much always happy)I felt as though I couldn't go on living and my panic attacks became much, much worse. It was very scary. Luckily I thought about it and told myself that thsi was not me and that it must be an effect from the medicine. I felt better after one day of being off it and went on Zoloft. Which worked for me. If you do take the medicine and have any of these feeling...remember please call your doctor. It is not you...it is the medicine.Read More Read Less

I have been on this medication for almost a week now. I was given this medication for depression, weight loss, and to help me quit smoking. I was originally diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and then after many tests, I was advised that I didn't have it (ARGH!). I have tried many other medications such as Adipex, Merida, Lexapro, Effexor...etc and have had no success (with MAJOR side effects), so this is kinda my last hope and I'm praying this will work. I haven't experienced any side effects yet (maybe just a little more tired), but it hasn't been that long. I just want to feel "normal" again and be able to function as a "happy" parent should. Please keep me in your prayers as I will keep you all in mine. Also, if anyone has any additional info they would like to share...I welcome it! Thanks so much! ~Jill~ Read More Read Less

After years of taking Prozac, my doctor switched me to Wellbutrin XL...it did not agree with me at all. I felt short-tempered - I could just about bite somebody's head off that crossed me or even looked at me the wrong way. I am now taking Lexapro and doing much better!

I took Welbutrin for approximately 4 years. I just stopped taking it within the last month or so. I now feel much better. I believe that Welbutrin may have contributed to my anxiety and moods. I felt very anxious and was extemely moody. I feel so much better now being off of it for a month. The positive of this med is, no sexual side effects and weight loss.

I have been taking this medication for about 6 years. My hair began falling out about six months ago and I think it started when I switched to generic budeprion xl and increased my dosage. Luckily I have thick hair, but I have lost about 50% of my hair and my doctor insists it is not a side effect of the medication. Does anyone know when or if my hair will stop falling out? I am starting to freak out, the Wellbutrin has been great for treating my Depression, but losing my hair at age 31 is stressing me out.Read More Read Less

I have been using this medication for about 6 months with no end in sight for my depression and increased anxiety due to my lack of concentration on any given task. I stopped taking it recently and feel so much better! I was so sleepy before and wasn't able to concentrate, which was my big concern. I'm still on Lexapro and feel that medication, along with focusing less on me and more on the Lord, are all I need to start living again. Pray for me...I've been in a very dark place and I am just now feeling the son's warmth upon my weary soul. Read More Read Less
