Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I have been taking 150mg twice daily for 4mos and I feel so much better. I use to have crying spells at least four times a day.I have fibromyalgia syndrome and had surgery on my R shoulder for a tear in my rotator cuff and multi-directional stability. The surgery was successful but I still have chronic pain in it and limited range of motion.I take other prescibed pain pills, but it only takes the ease off of my daily chronic pain and symptoms.I whiched from effexor sr 75mg twice a day due to sexual delays?Im single but I one day plan to be married and dont want to hav any problems in that area of my life.I was in denial for yearrs.I have isolated myself for my friends and family with the belief that no one would honesty understand the pain and discomfort I experience daily and at my age?My crying spells are under control now since I have been taking Wellbutrin.I hav even visited my mother at least twice per wk and started talkn bac to at least one of my friends :-)I have alot more energy which is great because one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia is fatigue. And I have also regained at alot of lost memory and concentration. It has and will continue to be a very big part of my health management plan.Read More Read Less

I was on this drug to help my depression. I had every side-effect listed and then some. The worst were the muscle cramps, and the rash. I quit taking it after a week and switched to Zoloft.

Worked great to help my mood and help me cope, but I had an enormous amount of hair loss and started to get terrible cystic acne. I have been off of Wellbutrin for almost 5 months and the hair loss and acne finally stopped.

I have been taking the generic Budeprion XL for about a month and a half and I honestly dont feel any differently(mood wise), but boy, lots of side effects have tagged along for the ride! For starters, I started having constant palpitations and chest discomfort about 2 weeks into treatment. Then there was this strange pain under my left shoulder blade that kept happening. Not to mention feeling jumpy and jittery most of the time. I am convinced that the generic form is to blame. Will be going back to my doc very soon...something has GOT to change and SOON!!Read More Read Less

started taking the generic wellbutrin after effexor constipated me. I have been taking 150mg daily for 2 days when the dizziness, confusion, nausea, crying for no reason started. Also have ringing in my ears but it is like a hammer hitting a piece of sheetmetal 3 times then stopping..about 1 minute later it happens again and so on..24hours a day. calling dr in the morning and getting back on celexa

I have been on the generic Wellbutrin for a few months now. I cannot take the XL or XR type. I do not have more energy, I am still very fatigued and I seem to be as depressed as I always was if not more. But I don't think the worsening depression is from the generic Wellbutrin but from other life issues. I am all for a medication that doesn't cause you to gain weight because if you are already depressed that will cause additional depression at least it would in me and I would be non compliant.

This drug drastically improved my quality of life. Though I do not have a formal dx of MDD, I suffered from both depression and fatigue- not sure if it was fatigue as a symptom of depression, or that I was depressed because I was fatigued all the time post mono. In any case, the Wellbutrin XL took care of both of them. In my experience having tried all three, the brand is the best, then the generic buproprion, and BY FAR THE WORST is the generic budeprion-HORRIBLE headaches. Right now I have been taking 300mg of the generic buproprion for about a year because the brand got too expensive, even with insurance. While on the brand drug, I lost about 10-15lbs but since have gained it back (not sure if it is related to swtiching from the brand to generic). Side effects I experienced/still experience include a headache the first week on it, constipation the first week on it, and for the two years I have taken it I have had increased eye sensitivity to sunlight. As a patient taking it and a registered nurse, I highly recommend this drug for patients experiencing depression with fatigue, especially if SSRI's increased your feeling of fatigue.Read More Read Less

I have felt better while taking this medication than any other antidepressants (Paxil, Zoloft & Cymbalta). I have much more energy and my depression is much improved.

I thought it worked ok for my depression, and it really helped me cut down on smoking and eating, but the side effect I had was that it made my hair fall out, it also happened to a relative that was on it too. I lost about half my hair (luckily I had a lot) but once I stopped taking it, it grew back. I know it sounds crazy, but that was my experience with it.

This medication did not help me stop smoking. The only thing it did was after three days of taking it, I began to hear voices telling me to kill myself. This drug was definately NOT for me.

Prescribed Wellbutrin for ADD (Stratera side-effects were terrible). I've noticed no positive results. I am completely depressed, and have pounding headaches.

I am 54 and have been taking Generic Wellbutrin for 2 years. I have felt much better and able to cope with the struggles I face. We are in a court battle claiming fraud against our mortage company. I don't think I could move ahead without Wellbutrin.

I had tolerable side effects at first. After 6 weeks, I had sleep disturbance. Then while resting in bed, had bursts of palpitations and irregular heart beat. It decreased appetite and desire to smoke, but not worth the A-fib and risk of stroke. Threw it away. Have been chewing a lot of gum instead.
