Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I am prescribed 150XL. I only took it for 1 week. It gave me a terrible headache. And also an upset stomach. I'm going to stick with the Celexa that I have taken for at least 5 years.

I've noticed an improvement in my concentration & attention throughout the day, an increase in motivation, and a decrease in appetite (a good thing for me being 50 lbs overweight). My dreams have been more vivid with a couple nightmares but that's not all bad - it kinda makes sleep-time an adventure.

i have only been on it a few days at 100 mg. twice per day. i felt immediate improvement, although i've been having trouble sleeping. i have been on it in the past and haven't felt this good. i think different manufacturers make a difference. i was on one that was blue that i had an allergic reaction to due to the blue die, and that didn't really help that much. i am now taking one that is white, and like i said, felt better immediately. all symptoms of depression are gone. i've had a bit of a headache, but over-the-counter migraine medication works for that, and a little bit of jitteriness, but i won't stop taking it because it has made me feel 100% better. i'm going to try cutting back to 100 mg. in the morning for a while to see if that helps with the sleep issue. I had taking wellbutrin when I was trying to quit smoking and I will never take it again nor would I suggest it to ANYONE. I went from feeling fine to a DEEP depression. where I thought I didnt want to live anymore so I immediatly stopped taking it and flushed it. I since have quit smoking on the patch(nicoderm cq) and it worked wonders without any antidepressants, and had not felt a deep depression since, this was all about 4-5 yrs ago.

I have been taking Wellbutrin for about 10 years. I started out taking 150mg, then after 5 years, switched to 300mg. I have never had a problem on this medication. No side effects, no sexual dysfunction. The reason why I like this drug so much is because it's one that you can just stop taking and there aren't any withdrawal symptoms. Although, after 10 years of taking it, I think it's stopped working. Now I have to figure out what to do.

I've had periods of headaches that last for a few days then go away. I stay up all the time and have problems getting 8hrs of straight sleep. I've lost weight, when I do eat, I get bad pain on my left side.

After gaining 20lbs with Lexapro my doctor switched me to Wellbutrin. I have anxiety and mild depression. Wellbutrin absolutely made me feel worse! I felt as though I was going insane after 10days and my depression worsened. My doctor immediately took me off the drug and switched me to Zoloft....So much better :D

However the generic version of the 300 mg XL does not work. I took the brand name, and switched to generic when the price skyrocketed. SIX days later I had to return to the brand name. The FDA site tells you the whole story. The thing is that anyone who is prescribed the generic brand for the first time won't know it's not working, and the prescribing physician presumably doesn't otherwise s/he would not have presctibed it.

I have only been on it for a week. My only complaints are headaches, sleeplesness, and increased urination, and mild anxiety. The hard part is taking it at the exact same time everyday, since my schedule of activities varies dy by day. My Dr. told me with time these side effects should diminish. I plan to keep track and see.

This is the only med that has worked for me. But have a major problem with it, I had a horrible skin condition all over my body. Thought I was allergic to the med itself but since have found that a lot of pills do it... I believe it is the coating. Am trying to find out if there is another form of wellbutrin xl such as liquid or gel caps but cant seem to find anything on it.
