Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I initially started with 20 mg of the generic of prozac but did not have the drive and energy that I thought I should have so my psychiatrist added wellbutrin to the prozac. I have experienced my first real period in my life where depression is not a concern. While it does seem to affect my sleep some and I have had a few periods where my joints ache it is a small tradeoff for the relief I am feeling.

I took Welbutrin (Buproprion) and while it did give me some mild attention benefits, it also gave me headaches.

I tried Wellbutrin since it was working well for other family members. To my surprise, I ended up being worse on it than on nothing at all. I became meaner, more emotional, and an overall B***h!! Proof again that what's the perfect drug for one person can be horrible for another.

When life was smooth I guess it worked fine. But on day 13 after an argument and disagreement with my spouse, suicidal thoughts were rampant. I stopped immediately.

After suffering from PTSD from my husband committing suicide, then a few months later being gang raped and beaten , I understandably was severely depressed. I kept thinking of ways to kill myself, my son, and my unborn child. It was crazy, I couldn't go anywhere or function at all. So my doctor put me on this and after a few months added Celexa and it worked miracles. I was able to go back to college to finish my degree and both of my sons have a mother who is totally functional. The only side effect I noticed was appetite suppressant and since I am very overweight I think it's a great one to have! I no longer binge everynight! Read More Read Less

I am taking generic wellbutrin 150 mg daily in addition to celexa 20 mg, the wellbutrin helps the sexual side effects along with the increased appetite from celexa. It takes a few days to get adjusted.

I have taken many medications for depression over the last 10 years. Wellbutrin was a God send for me. It has been the only one that I could feel a postive difference. It also helped with he chronic fatigue. My doctor incrased my dose to 300mg and I am feeling like my old self again! No negative sexual side effects for me! My ncreased mood has incrased my labito.

I was going to ask my Doc about getting this med and wanted to ask others taking it if it caused weight gain and did it take away your sex drive. These are the two things that are keeping me wanting to try this med. Thanks in advance to those who can give me some hope that this will make things better than cause another problem. My poor husband wants his happy wife back. Thanks

I started taking Wellbutrin XR several years ago and have now switched to Bupropion HCL XR (generic) 300mg. It works great. The pharmacist has several manufacturers he can go to for the one that works better for the patient so I would try different generics until I found a suitable one. I also take 225 mg. of Effexor XR along with the Wellbutrin and Buspirone (generic Buspar). I recently switched my Effexor to generic and it is working great. I guess because I have been on them so long, I do not have any adverse effects. My doctor is switching my Buspar to Xanax because the Buspar has affected my vision and I am experiencing involuntary muscle contractions and jerking movements. I tried Cymbalta once before and I felt suicidal so back to the Wellbutrin for me.Read More Read Less

I've been taking Wellbutrin for only 4-5 days. So far, I haven't noticed any bad side effects. I can tell that I have more energy during the day, which is very nice! I have always battled having zero energy throughout the day. I've been taking 20 mg of Lexapro for 2 years now for anxiety and it helped wonderfully. But after my Grandmother passed away a little over a month ago, my anxiety attacks were getting the better of me..I made an appointment with my doctor and that's when she wrote me a script for Wellbutrin. I think it's way too soon to know if it's going to work for me, but I am hopeful! I am taking the generic, which is nice because it only costs me $4 per month. Read More Read Less

Added 150 mg Wellbutrin to my 20 mg Lexapro yesterday. Woke up nauseous but not as bad as when I took Paxil. Does the nausea go away? Otherwise no difference so far.
