Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I am pleased with Wellbutrin XML. I was on it years ago and thought it calmed me toooo much so I stopped it. After being a nurse for 10 years you go through a lot and also a lot in family life. I began taking the 150 SR in November, it worked until Feb. I need something stronger and was placed on the 300 XL. The one thing Tha I hate is I have Dry mouth very bad. I guess it may be good in a way; I am learning to love water,

Clinical depression. Was a blessing to me for many years as it lifted my chronic depression and made me feel normal again, but recently stopped working. I am still on it, with the addition of Lexapro, but I don't know if Lexapro alone would do the job. It seems that after 18 years, my brain got used to Wellbutrin and it just isn't effective anymore.

I started on 150 mg. for two weeks and was fine. then it bumped up to 300 mg. and I thought I was losing my mind. My thoughts were erratic, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't concentrate, my mouth was dry, I had ringing in my ears and most of all, I felt drugged. I went back to 150 mg. but the only improvement was that I was able to sleep. I'm conscious nearly 100% of the time that this medication is in my system. I'm stopping it. Better luck to you.

With the name brand Wellbutrin XL treatment has been very successful. When insurance required that I use the generic things went downhill quickly.

Best Anti-dep I have ever taken. I take 350mg two times a day. I started taking buproprion when zoloft didn't seem to be working for me. I have been suffering depression since my husband cheated on me. Unlike zoloft and lexapro, I didn't gain a bunch of weight nor did I feel tired and disconnected all the time. I actually feel like my old self, the jovial old self. I feel as close to normal as any other anti-dep I have taken. The side effects for me were dry mouth the first month and increased...yes increased libido. For some reason this drug heightens my libido not in the sense that i want it more but a great sense of touch and excitability. (Wonderful not complaining lol) The best thing I like about this drug is that I don't feel like a zombie. I feel in control of me still.Read More Read Less

I started Wellbutrin 150mg xl (generic) about 3.5 weeks ago to help stop smoking. It has done that, my desire to smoke is almost gone. Wellbutrin (along with many antidepressants) has caused me to itch something fierce. I'm now taking the name brand, same dose, so hopefully the itching will get better.

I was diagnosed with depression during my divorce and started taking this drug until I lost my job with Bank merger. I was good on Wellbutrin for 9 months when my health insurance ran out. I during my personal hurricane I was close again to suicide but I was able to get back working. I started again (about 2 weeks) and I have great confidence at work now. Only side effect for me is rapid heart rate. My doctor will probably say I might to be on Wellbutrin XL for life. I am ok with that.
