Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I have been on Wellbutrin XL for two years 325mg but have found that the meds effect is not working for me. I can say at the start, the med worked very well but I have been on the same dose too long and will be seeing my PCP to adjust. I would recommend to those who are suffers.

I was on this medicine for two and a half years. It was excellent. I became pregnant and had to get off of it, and I've been forgetful and more 'down' than when I was on it, but less nervous. Turns out, it really helped me be happy and concentrate, and I had much higher energy levels while on it. I miss it really, but I am toughing out a more natural approach to living life now. St. John's Wort has just about the same effects

I am taking this with cymbalta. It really helped to lift me from the sadness I was feeling. I have a lot of energy now and my creative spirit came back. I do get a few headaches and my throat feels a bit sticky sometimes.

My doctor added 150 mg of this to my dose of 5 mg of Cipralex (Canadian Lexapro) to counteract the weight issues I've been having since being put on it for anxiety. I was so hopeful as I've had a horrible time with weight gain on antidepressants, going from 120lbs to 180! Sadly, the first day I was on this pill I had hand tremors and dizziness. The second day I had minor chest pain and my anxiety skyrocketed. It's now the third day and I had horrible cold sweats earlier, and still intermittent chest pain, so I'm stopping. This is obviously not a pill that's good for anxiety, regardless of what my doctor says. I now feel like I've rewound my progress and have to start again thanks to this drug.Read More Read Less

I can't say enough good things about this med. It did take a while for it to kick in. I would say close to a month. It has lifted me out of my depression AND has helped me tremendously with my concentration. I suddenly can remember things that I used to forget. I have actually started online courses because of it. This side effect was really a welcomed one and I think helped me with my depression. I was hoping that it would help with smoking and losing a bit of weigh. But, feeling better with a sharper mind is just fine for me!Read More Read Less

This is an aweful drug and downright destroyed my health for months. I swelled up beyond recognition and then came the hives. I was literally F-D up for about 3-4 months trying to recover from this abomination of a drug. And I tried to give it no stars, but they wouldn't let me. If you want to quit smoking, just quit, all in the mind. by the way i still smoke....

All this medication did was give me these horrible, horrible headaches. Also killed my appetite, but I never lost any weight. Didn't do anything for the depression after six weeks...headaches got to the point I felt sick at my stomach.

This medication was doing wonders for me. I was taking this medication a long with others to help with my Bipolar. Everything was going great, but I didn't know I was very sensitive to medications. I started having petite mal seizures, many times a day and all through the night. I'm even on Topmax which is an antidepressant/anti seizure medication, and I was still having seizures. My doctor took me off the wellbutrin and my seizures have stopped, but my mood is going down hill. It's a great medication other than the side affects. Read More Read Less

I have tried a few other anti-depressants and Wellbutrin XL is the only one that has worked for me. I experience a few side effects like no sex drive, weight gain, frequent urination, and sporadic bowel movements but its totally worth it because I feel great!!! I also take methadone and the combination of the two drugs have literally saved my life.

The only side effect I had while taking this was crying!! BUT the crying was only when I was up-set or having a stressful issue. I think it it worked on the depression a little.

I'm taking this medicine for fatigue I have had cirrhosis due to hep.c for about 15 years and it has gotten to where I have little or no energy. This medicine has helped somewhat but I still get tired and stay that way easy.

Been on this med for 14 years (give or take a break here and there) I have had good results and no unwanted side affects-I am surprized at the number of negative comments-I am diagnosed major depressive disorder/add and take 300mg wellbutrin once a day, adderall 30mg twice a day,and klonopin as needed for sleep and anxiety-remember folks sometimes it takes YEARS to find the right combination of meds. The only thing that puzzles me is that its supposed to help with quitting smoking-well I am a smoker and on a relatively higher dose of wellbutrin and it does nothing to quell nicotine cravings for myself-oh well everybodys differentRead More Read Less

I have been taking the generic form of Wellbutrin XL 300mg,in addition to Klonopin for about 5 months, because of depression and anxiety, due to some issues with my son, in combination to an increased stress level at my job, since we were taken over. I take it in the morning and have not had any of the side effects others have spoken about. I do find that for the last couple of weeks I have been more weepy, and not quite in control emotionally - but it could be because I stopped taking the meds for the week my husband & I went away. I called my Dr. today & will speak with him about this. Read More Read Less

On a very low dosage my experience was alright but when my psychiatrist upped my dosage, I began to experience migraines and then ended up having a seizure. Please be careful while taking this!

This medicine was like poison in my system; some of my side effects were cotton mouth, wide awake during night, nausea, jittery feeling, hot flashes and lots of sweating.I didn't see it helping my depression and stress any. I stayed on it 13 days, couldn't stand it any more and went off of it. If I had to feel this way every day, I wouldn't do it.
