Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

I started taking Wellbutrin two and a half week ago to quit smoking. For ten days I still smoke but less, three at most / day. On the 11th day I stopped smoking and craving is minimal. The med has also helped in so many ways. I have plenty energy, wake up early and wide awake, increase my sex drive. I have never been so happy in my life.

Depression and SSRI's did nothing for me. Evidently, I was short on dopamine and possibly norepinephrine. My mood has been good since I started some 20 yrs ago. I am at 375 mg -- anything higher caused sleep and anxiety; lower darkened my mood. So, don't give up -- dosages matter, even slight changes.

I was given Wellbutrin for Bipolar Depression. This drug did not work well at all. I had nausea and dizziness and lost my appetite and had racing thoughts. I do not recommend this drug at all.

I have been on this for over 10 years. ONE warning to everyone, I have a complete reverse action if I take generic. With in 3 days I am totally different person. So check to be sure you have not been given generic instead of Wellbutrin XL.

This was added on as a booster to another antidepressant. It worked very well and I noticed improvement very quickly. I experienced no side effects until I was put on 450mg. Taking with a meal made the side effects go away.

Tried taking this medication for over a month and side effects are worse than the depression. Caused me to feel very shaky and anxious. Difficulty with sleep. Racing thoughts. Increased anger and irritability.I also had crying spells that are not normal for me. The only advantage was increased energy which was one of the reasons for trying the medication. I decided to discontinue and return to Lexepro.

After reading the side effects I am ready to come off the drug all together. I feel like its causing more problems in my body then not, I have been on this drug since 1992 after my dad and brother died had a mild breakdown, but I recently found out I am diabetic and wondering if the side effects are behind this , I have just about all the side effects mentioned the dizziness, sick to my stomach, headaches bowel issues behind taking the medication, restless to the point I cant think on my job , paranoid, I would rather come off the drug and let my body heal on its own or should I say my brain, but I have heard you cant just come off the wellbutrin xl or it can be dangerous Read More Read Less

I've been on Wellbutrin now for 10 days. Started taking it for these pains/shortness of breath and what the doc believed was a panic attack. I also felt jittery and my limbs felt weak. I was always tired. Now, I don't know what to think. At first, I was dead tired but couldn't sleep on this stuff. I was sleep deprived. I also seemed even sadder than before. I'm still dead tired and have been sleeping but I feel shaky and my muscles are twitchy as well. I don't know if this drug hasn't kicked in yet or it's time to try something else. I also noticed, I went to work out the other day, was lifting weights, and that shakiness and muscle weakness really kicked in. Anyone else have these issues on Wellbutrin? Read More Read Less

I took this for depression and anxiety. After about two weeks of taking it my depression worsened and I started having suicidal thoughts. I immediately stopped taking it. Be very careful with this drug.

Not very effective at all. I took it for depression and anxiety and it made the anxiety worse and didn't do much for depression at all. Stay away from this one.

Wellbutrin is incredible! I must be made of iron because I have no side effects what-so-ever on 150 mg. twice a day. Very minimal smoking urge every now and then, but overall an easy ride. 6 weeks smoke-free. Took my first puff at 15. I'm now 65. It's a wonderful feeling to finally kick the habit.

I have been taking Wellbutrin XL 300mg for about 6 months along with Prozac. I started them both at the same time so I'm not sure which one is really working-maybe it's the combination. I feel so much better. I'm motivated and able to focus better. I do have dry mouth and sometimes parts of my body jerk. I no longer have the desire to smoke- but I do have the desire to EAT. But overall, great med to take!

Second week 150 mg xl. Had a few rapid heart beat moments and some insomnia ( .5 Xanax helps me sleep ) overall feeling of positivity and focus... Hoping side affects will subside. Hasn't suppressed my appetite at all . Sex drive still great. Have a follow up soon . Little things not such crisis as before, but no zombie-like feelings. Still me. Let's see how it goes. Will give it recommended 4-6 weeks to completely work at least.

My husband and myself both started this 9 days ago to stop smoking. He has had no side effects and sleeps like a baby. I have had an average of 2 to 3 hours of sleep a night, lost 12 lbs., very rapid heartbeat, no appetite, rapid speech and feel like I'm on amphetamines! Every person is different. What works for one person doesn't work for another. My husband thinks because I'm high strung to begin with and on the hyper side, I had bad side effects. I've stopped taking this 3 days ago and still not sleeping. Doctor put me on Ambien and I fall asleep but can't stay asleep more than a couple hours. Guess I have to give it time to get completely out of my system. It can help you stop if you can take it!Read More Read Less
