Before this medication I was absolutley a mess. I was crying almost everyday, on my days off from work I would lay on the couch and would not get up all day. I had stopped going out with friends, gained over 30 lbs, and overall just didn't care about anything. I decided it was time to take action and as much as I thought, oh this is a phase and I will snap out of it, I realized I couldn't do it on...

My 19 year old daughter starting taking this medication Dec. 18 to treat for clinical depression. On Jan 16, she overdosed on the wellbutrin. Her behavior and mood since she started taking wellbutrin has gone downhill. She survived the overdose but had many seizures. She is now in a psych ward under a 14 day hold.

Was given this drug for Postpardum depression after Zoloft did not work. The combo of the drug and counseling reduced and eventually eliminated my symptoms within 4-6 weeks.

I am "somewhat" dissatisfied with this medication. I recently was prescribed wellbutrin due to anxiety and addiction to cigarettes. I took it for 3 weeks and yes quit smoking but had more anxiety than ever and more depression. I had many fits of out of control crying and anger. My boyfriend brought the medication I was on to my attention because he knew that i was a little on the emotional side but not possessed. I even had a week long outbreak of hives. Although I am only 90% sure this was the medications fault. I was so distracted at all the other stuff I was going through I did not crave cigarettes and as far as drinking was involved I got sick after two drinks so I am taking a vacation from alcohol as well. I still have hives on and off so hopefully in another 24 hours the medication should be completely out of my system and hopefully hive free. I will finally be able to breath peacefully and with out a cigarette in my hand.Read More Read Less

I have been on many bipolar medications over the years and have had much luck with most but the effects of each medication only lasts a year or 2. I took Wellbutrin and it made me VIOLENT! I had the most disturbing thoughts and dreams. It was soooo frightening. I have never been violent nor have I had violent thoughts or dreams until I took wellbutrin. No other medication ever made me feel this way, just Wellbutrin and I have taken many in my years. PLEASE be careful when taking this medication as with any other but I would rather be without anything in my system than to feel I want to harm others like I did with this medication. Needless to say, I IMMEDIATELY stopped this drug and never touched it again.Read More Read Less

after serveral life changing situations my Dr put me on Wellbutrin--my gosh, the treatment was worse than the depression. If made me fell as if there was no reason to be alive and caused even more depression. I jut existed, i would just sat and cry, even at work. This medication is very dangerous and should be used with only the upmost care. I see an accupunturest that has helped more then any medication

This drug has helped me a lot. I have found though that over time it is not as effective as when I first started taking it. A plus to it is when I first started taking it I was able to lose a lot of weight because of lack of cravings.

Was originally prescribed in tandem with a low dose of prozac. Ended up cycling off of it because it didn't seem to have any effect at all.
