The medication worked very well for me. But the only compalint that I have is that I cannot hear out of my left ear. I have been using the medication since the 22nd of December and my ear is totally clogged. I will have to return to physician to see if this problem will require additional medical treatment. I've tried to blow my pinched nose but still clogged. I cannot hear very well out of m...

I have an inner/outer ear infection and my doctor prescribed Ciprodex and Amoxicillan. After only 1 use of Ciprodex, I experienced total hearing loss in both ears. I notified my doctor immediately and he said it should go away within a week. It has now been 2 weeks and although the hearing loss has improved somewhat, I still have significant hearing loss, especially my right ear. My ENT doctor...

I got a bout of swimmers ear, went to the doctor and she prescribed Ciprodex drops. I used them in conjunction with a 50/50 rubbing alcohol and vinegar solution rinse to keep the ear canal clean and dry. Condition cleared up in 7 days. There was some stabbing pain in my ear drum during treatment but has subsided.

I had swimmers ear and have been using these drops for 12 days. I have pronounced ringing and a bubble feeling in the ear with diminished hearing. I read the reviews and am wondering why the ENT doc that I saw says that this is the BEST product on the market?????

The cost of a few ml of this suspensión of cipro and dexamethasone at 0.1and0.3 percent respectiveli, is a ripp off. We paid $175 at the Target pharmacy in Columbia MD. The cost of preparing such a suspensiónis not more than two dollars. This pharmacy, the foreign Alcon lab and whomever prescribes Ciprodex are involved in a racket.

I've had an ear wax problem most of my adult life. I let it get out of control, Dr could not remove all the wax thereby restoring my diminished hearing so Ciprodex was prescribed [$167]. The drops must be put into the ear by my wife and the hearing and rushing sound has gotten worse plus pain-spikes have been added, never experienced with a wax. After 2 1/2 days, no more Ciprodex, flush with warm water, see ear DR. in 2 days. It can't get worse than what I am experiencing.

Our 5 year old was given this medication and after using it 2 times we discontinued it. He was given this for a inner ear infection, had a clogged tube with blood in his ear canal He was screaming in pain after giving it to him 2 different times. He had used it once before with no problems. We called the doctor and he said there was no reason he should react this way and he was just being overly sensitive to the drops. Needless to say we called another Doctor for an appointment and advice. The new Doctor said this is a common side affect of this medication and he would not prescribe it to anyone that see's him. I would not recommend this medication to anyone after our experience.Read More Read Less

I'm basically just going to echo what many other reviewers have said. I developed an ear infection after severe head cold. I used Ciprodex for the prescribed 7 days and have not noticed any change in symptoms. Drug was expensive ($176) and not covered by my generally very good insurance plan. Given the number of similar complaints, one really has to wonder what kind of deal the manufacturer has with doctors. Sure wish I had checked out this website before bought it.

First of all.. People complaining about this medication giving them hearing problems are rather ignorant.. You have an ear infection.. Of course you're going to have less hearing during the course of it.. Duh! You have a ton of goo plugging your ear up. People experience this, and then take the medication and suddenly start freaking out and blaming it as the cause. I have never had any problems with this medication, it has always gotten rid of any ear infections I've had in a matter of hours typically. No pill/consumable antibiotics like Amoxicillan can even compare to it.Read More Read Less

The overall results are yet to be known. However, I still have popping in my ear all the time, and feel like there is fluid in the affected ear. My hearing is worse right now, don't know if that is contributed by the medicine or just part of my overall problem with the ear.

After a throat infection I experienced slight pain in my right ear and some hearing loss with the feeling of a bubble in my ear. On visiting the doctor I was diagnosed with otitis externa and prescribed Ciprodex which I took for seven days, twice a day. As soon as I started the medication I felt as though my ear was clogged up but I continued for the period specified. Now I hardly hear in the ear, and the clogged feeling persists. I have stopped using the drops for two days now and hope that the hearing returns to my ear.Read More Read Less

This works, BUT it's RIDICULOUSLY EXPENSIVE. Wally's Ear Oil works preventatively and at the initial onset of achiness. East Tao herbs sells a better formula called AVA. You can find it online. $15.00

Had tympanoplasty in Aug and started using it Sept 4 until now; I developed continuous tinnitus, it irritates me. Its not here before my surgery. My Ent could not tell if my tinnitus will resolve or will be permanant. I am on my 2nd bottle already and the ENT prescribed me for 2 refills. Am I going to delvelop ototoxity?

My 9 year old daughter was prescribed Ciprodex and completed the 1 week dosage period with no relief from her ear pain said to be from an irritated ear canal/infection. It was expensive and it doesn't seem to help very many people based on the reviews. I wish I would have known that and I will not except another prescription for this medication. Our first experience with ear drops and it failed. Now I need to make another appointment, pay for another office visit pay for another prescription and waste a beautiful afternoon with my children while we all sit at the doctors office!Read More Read Less

After using this for 7 days my ear is worse than before and I cannot hear out of my right ear where applied. Now that I have read these other reviews I am extremely upset with this product even being on the market and a doctor prescribing it! I will see a specialist right away and hopefully have my hearing repaired!

To anyone who used this on an ear infection and it had no effect, or made it worse, the same thing happened to me. I saw another doctor despite my original doctors advice to finish the course. The new doctor said this is only used for middle ear infection, it would not have a good effect on an inner ear infection, for which you need oral antibiotics.

I have had chronic ear infections for months with severe hearing loss. I had tubes put in both ears and was given this medicine as a followup. I have had no side-effects at all and am hearing well for the first time in months.
