3rd week of using Subutex to treat pill addiction. Overall, it has been a pretty good experience. I'm using it along with other prescribed meds to help with withdrawl/sleep difficulty.

I had been taking Hydrocodone ES tabs for over 10 years due to pain. After many times of trying to "Cold Turkey" myself I came to the realization that I can't do it by myself and I wanted my life back. I wanted to control my own destiny. I found a Dr who took me on this journey to find my freedom. He put me on Subutex and so far so good. I do feel like I have the flu including vomiting but other than that I feel pretty darn good. My only concern is that I pray I don't get addicted to these pills. Its only been 1 week now, so check back for updates. Please pray for me that I am successful. Read More Read Less

Subutex is a great life-saving drug. Just dont crush and sniff it and you'll be fine. If you do you will get that "familiar feeling" again and soon enough you will be right back where you left off. Trust me, my brother was doing that for a WHILE until I caught on to all the Afrin bottles he was using. Then after I told his Dr. what he was doing they put him right back on Suboxone bad "headaches" or not. He hates me for it, but he will love and thank me for it later.

I am a chronic pain patient. I have had numerous major surgeries and now have chronic peripheral neuropathy, unable to walk, stand etc any length of time. I have been so miserable on pain medication. I was given this drug to help relieve withdrawl symptoms. I has helped my pain considerably.

My life was one long miserable migraine associated with peripheral body pain. No medication I took would bring me relief. I was having to get pain shots weekly, sometimes two or more a week. I was always in such pain. I also suffer from bi-polar disorder and the constant pain of the headaches and body pain with the trials of bi-polar disease landed me in a psychiatric hospital where I met the best doctor I have EVER met. He is a psychiatrist who also has a degree in pain management. He took over my case and after a pain management review he prescribed Subutex. I was blessed in that I did not have an opiate addiction though I fear I was headed there. So when he prescribed Subutex I was kind of worried, how will that help me. Subutex has been a WONDER drug for me. The migraines have been completely brought under control and when one does come regular migraine meds are effective. (As long as I take my Subutex as directed) Subutex has given me my life back and with the stress of the pain gone the bi-polar disease is a little easier to manage too. Thank you Subutex!!Read More Read Less

This drug is a miracle drug! It helped me to save my life from misery and addiction. I couldn't do it without Subutex because the withdrawals were unbearable. I could not stop because of the fear of those withdrawals but thanks to Subutex, I was able to stop and get my life back. I would recommend it to anyone suffering from addiction or dependance to opiates.

Thank the Lord for scientists. This medicine has changed my sad life of 7 years. No one would know my torment inside, I am a proud mother, wife, and experienced schoolteacher. I am able to get out of bed after a short bout of severe, extreme, suicidal depression. Anyone unhappy with Subutex is probably just taking too high dosage. No more fantasizing about drugs, time to fantasize about life and worrying about what to cook for dinner. How can I thank you enough, I am finally happy inside. Also, suffer from chronic migraines and this eliminates most and reduces pain greatly in others. God Bless...Read More Read Less

I am addicted to opoids and have had great results from using subutex. I was given this instead of suboxone because I am expecting a baby in April and the Dr. didn't want me on a pain blocker (suboxone) because I am supposed to have a C-Section and will need pain relief. I have adjusted well with Subutex, though it has a bitter taste compaired to the Suboxone. Overall this med works just as well as the Suboxone. Personally, I do not think it would be good to give to someone who is early in recovery, (due to nonblocker). However, it is also necessary if a pt. has an illergic reation to the Suboxone, in which case,Subutex could be then used.Read More Read Less

I was on a Subutex therapy for a oxycontin addiction and found it didn`t work for me. My doctor prescribed Suboxone and I`m happy to say that I am now drug free, and I don`t even have the urge to use anymore. It`s been 6 months now, and this med saved my marriage, and possibly my life. One day at a time. If used properly, it`s a very effective med. Good luck to all those wishing to become drug free. Please, do not use this as a recreational drug, or to bypass the sickness aftera night of getting high! It`s not intended for that purpose, and your only kidding yourself, and ruining it for those of us that want to remain clean and sober!!Read More Read Less

I am 8 months pregnant and have been on Vicodin for several years. I tried getting off the Vicodin several times during this pregnancy but I have failed because the withdrawls are just horrible. So the Dr. put me on 2mg of Subutex 3x a day. This is absolutely the miracle drug I have been looking for. It's very expensive but well worth the money. I no longer crave other opiates and I'm able to function and feel relaxed while on this medication.I love it and would highly suggest it to anybody. In order to want to get off other drugs you have to be very open-minded and willing to make changes. Read More Read Less

Subutex has been wonderful and has gave me my life back. I have no withdraws when i am on the medicine. I have came off of the medication once (not by choice) and the withdraws were not that severe when compared to oxycontin, herion, or methadone. I highly recommend it.
