I have chronic inflammation due to several conditions and it really works for me. I tried a generic medicine but it didn't work. Only thing bad about Alrex is the cost.

I was given this medication for "dry eye" condition. I have tried to use this drug for two years, but have gotten less relief from it than from OTC meds. Then recently I read where eye meds with steriods can cause glaucoma! So have decided to quit using this. Also, I don't believe the bit about weaning yourself off, as there was a period of time when I didn't use it and nothing in particular hap...

I've just started using Alrex and it's given me a nasty headache each time. I won't continue using it. I'd rather use OTC allergy drops.

Used only one drop in both eyes and it felt like my eye was being suctioned by a vacuum seal. Terrible pressure. Migraine/nausea. Following day dizzy and felt foggy. Horrible experience. Was trying to treat inflammation and caused other issues instead.

I have dry eye syndrome. Prescribed two times a day for 8 days, it took 2 days for it to work.
I don't wear contacts. I wear glasses.
2 hours after I used to drop I already noticed a difference with my blurry vision it got better.

I dont see any dates on these reviews, Optometrist prescribed but did not tell me it was a steroid.. I should have read pharmacy notes with it... this was year or so ago, I then found out high eye pressure but do not know if it was from drops, but wise to check if using... later diagnosed with acute angle Glaucoma by specialist so not sure if drops or Optometrist not noticing, cause or ?? It is sometimes difficult to find out what is causing red sore eyes, especially if we have dry eyes.... good luck everyone!Read More Read Less

I have had scleritis in both eyes since 1992. I tried 20+ other drugs until I was prescribed Alrex in 2002. It has been an eye saver.

My eyes constantly itched and I could not get relief from over the counter drops. Using Alrex I experienced immediate relief from itching sensation. Relief lasted 12 hours.

I have chronic inflammation of the eye and eyelids due to stevens Johnson Syndrome and this mild steroid has definitely helped take the inflamation down and quieted the redness of my eye so the cornea is much mroe clear and white. I use 3x/day for 3 weeks. Helped my pain, no side effects. it's a great medication for me

Nothing else worked for my allergies, my eyes would be glowing red, itchy, and watery during allergy season, and this stuff is the only thing that was effective. Current doctor is hesitant to prescribe it though, because of the potential risks.

My eye was watering and slightly red. I began the medication just this morning and the redness is already clearing up. The eye is still watering, but it has only been one full day of use. I've had this before and Alrex worked great. I trust it to do the job again.

I was having problems seeing, everything was blurry, but now that I'm on it, it has gotten extremely harder to see even a foot in front of me. I see double, and things are blurry unless I squint really hard. Hopefully this stuff will kick in, so far I'm a week and a half in, and nothing is going well...
