Labetalol was first given to me to treat hypertension ranging from 140/90 to 161/105 and was highly effective in lowering it to normal levels under 120/80. The downside to it was extreme fatigue. I actually have to take 50 mg twice a day even though the lowest dose is 100 mg. (I have to take 2 half pills per day)The 100 mg twice per day was too much for me and caused extreme dizziness and I felt a...

I was given this in the hospital when blood pressure was over 210. Kept taking it twice a day with 25 mg. hctz. Eyesight only blurry occasionally and dry mouth sometimes. Nothing too serious.

I've taken this drug for 2 years, and have gotten steadily more and more short of breath when just doing menial yardwork, have also put on 20 lbs., severly tired, and dizzy. I Intend to wean myself off this drug. It was prescribed by a Cardiologist, so my family Doctor, won't try something else. I'm also on Lisinopril and Norvasc. I'll keep using those.

I have found that this drug (300MG 2X a day) is keeping my BP down, but it really has some annoying side effects that I see others have posted. Tingly scalp, and sometimes legs; light headedness, especially in the morning; I cannot breath as well, and this is most notable when exercising; VERY sore leg muscles after running if I take the daily dose before running, I have to run just before my next dose is due; shaky upper body in certain situations like during heavy muscle use or moments of anxiety; stuffy nose; sometimes feel tired or weak . I am a person who runs 3 miles every few days, so I am not an out of shape or weak person by nature. I have to schedule my day around my dose times.Read More Read Less

I used to take Atenolol along with exercise and low salt diet but my BP was still 165/95 on the average. Now I take 100 mg twice daily and now average BP is 125/75. Only issue is sometimes I feel weak/tired and a little faint for about an hour in the mornings. Does not occur all the time.

this was a terrible medication for me. the side effects were horrible. no energy, tired all the time, scalp tingleing, gained weight and could not lose it, felt like I was constantly in a fog. my dr finally took me off it 2 weeks ago and wow, I feel like a different person, full of energy losing weight, alert!!
